I was visiting from Seattle. Usually when I travel I try to get coffee from a few different places hoping to find somewhere a... bit better than the day before. On this trip Three Ships was my second attempt and after that I didn't even bother tryinganywhere else because I knew it wouldn't hold up. Over the few days I was in town I had a mocha (probably the best I've hadoutside of the PNW), a pourover (easily on par with what I can get at home, I liked it enough that I grabbed a bag of beans tobring back with me), and a breakfast sandwich (also egg-cellent). If you're trapped in Norfolk and looking for a good cup ofcoffee, this is without a doubt your best bet. Read more
Like another customer, I tried to order a coffee (to-go) here with my dog and a lady immediatly asked me to leave for having my... dog in there (okay, I understand). However, I was simply hoping to support their business and grab a coffee and be on my way. Itook my business up the street to aLatte Caffe and grabbed a delicious crepe from across the street. Three Ship is one of my favorite Hampton Roads coffee shops and probably the best local roaster. Their new Downtown Norfolk shop... is really cool. Great vibe, cool music, free WiFi, and tons of space. Great addition to the area! Read more

The staff (1 person) was nice and accommodating of my order. What I cannot believe however is the absolutely shameless price... gouging that this business does. I got a sandwich, a bag of chips, the avo egg bowl, and two mocha coffees. It ended up comingout to OVER $40!!!! That's insane!! The worst part is that it's not even what you'd expect for $40 as the portions are comicallysmall. The avo egg bowl is basically a cup, and the sandwich was about as long as my open hand. That would be fine, if it was$6. Not $10 bordering on $11. Save your money people. Go to Cure or Starbucks or any other place that's cheaper than this.Expecting to build up a customer base with prices like these is an insult and they clearly don't respect your money. Read more
The coffee was excellent. Friendly staff and knowledgeable baristas. Reasonable prices. The only thing I don't like is how... ungodly, early they close. Also not the most comfortable place to go if you need to sit down with a laptop to get some work orstudies done. Didn't try any food items so can't speak on that. Aside from that, I definitely would come again cause thecoffee is good. Read more
