Very disappointed tonight. Our server was mostly attentive but didn't ask if I wanted another drink even though she took my... empty. She didn't ask my friend how she wanted her beef tips cooked. They were out of food that another friend ordered butwaited to tell her so she could choose something else. The majority of the food ordered for our party of five was cold orlukewarm when it finally came out almost an hour after we had ordered and they weren't even busy. I had the crab stuffedflounder that confused me when it came. I have never seen round flounder in my life and couldn't taste the crab in the stuffingthat was placed in the center of my circle of flounder. My husband said the citrus salmon was good and his was at least warm.Guess we all were waiting for his to be finished. We were given the excuse that someone must have bumped the warmer and turnedit off but the table next to us had to send both of their orders back because they were cold. Our didn't come out for at least30 minutes after that. Guess their warmer takes awhile to warm back up. Our party was comped 20% of the meal but, frankly itwasn't enough for food most of us couldn't even eat and others only ate because they were starving. I will definitely suggest adifferent place for our out of town guests in the future. Read more
Very nice place and the food was great. Service was a bit slow/off but we were there at an off time on a Sunday so be patient,... it?s worth the wait. The outdoor seating is very nice, great views of the boat traffic. Read more
The staff was very welcoming and answered all of your questions right of the bat. Our waiter was the best! He was friendly,... engaging and so helpful with recommendations, all while putting up with 8 indecisive females! This restaurant is inside of thewaterside area which is this giant building with restaurants and sports bars and huge tv screens. The restaurant is very cleanand organized. This is suppose to have a half pound of shrimp,a half pound of mussels, and a half pound of clams, and a cluster of crab legs. I... don't know who is weighing this but he needs to take his finger off the scale, and zero mussels...that's right not a single one.The waitress was nice so that's why I gave it 2 stars instead of one. Perhaps it was that I dined alone? Perhaps it was because it was the last 45 minutes prior to service closing? Perhaps it was... because I chose to dine outside rather than inside?? None the less, service was perfunctory at best. A waitress arrived 20minutes after I'd been seated with a glass of water, she did not introduce herself but asked if I'd like something more thanwater. Having noticed that a couple who where seated after i was had already received their order i decided I'd better place mybar order as well as my meal. 20 minutes later my drink arrived with the calamari appetizer. The drink was decent but thecalamari rather than being "deep fried" had the texture and temperature of only being in a convection oven briefly to thawthem. 55 minutes after my initial arrival my entree, pan seared scallopsover spinach risotto, arrived. Again, they were onlyluke warm. While I understand that prices of scallops are truly high currently, I was disappointed that for $30 there were only4 scallops of 30/40 size, each only about 3/4 - 1 inch in diameter and 3/4 inch in height. ???? Prices for that size scallopdont appear to justify the price of the dish. The risotto also disappointed...rather than being hot and creamy it had cooledand congealed. The drizzle of white truffle oil did help it visually. So for a total bill that came near $60...there arebetter places to go for your money in downtown Norfolk. Read more
My family and I came out to wish our cousin farewell on her move cross country. First we were placed at the wrong table with... people that were not in our party. Our waiters were amazing and the drinks were nice but they ran out of sweet tea and applejuice for the children. I ordered a shrimp cocktail and oyster Rockefeller and it was absolutely horrible there was more spinachand burnt cheese than oyster. The shrimp cocktail was rubbery and over cooked and was not plated well at all. For my entree Iordered the seafood pasta which was drenched in a disgusting Alfredo sauce the scallops were over cooked as well as the shrimpand mussels. My husband ordered the seafood platter and it was absolutely horrible! The only enjoyable meals were my two boyswho ordered popcorn shrimp. The staff was wonderful as well as the management with helping address our concerns. They did giveus a 20% discount and took off our meals but we still paid over $100 on a meal that we not only did not enjoy but did not eat.The ambience was very nice but my experience was horrible and have no plans on returning as my stomach has been in easy since weleft! Went to Stripers with some colleagues after work. After eating the food all of us fell ill and got sick. Contacted the manager... about my experience. Instead of trying to apologize and better the situation, he tries to intimidate me by saying that over 150people came to the restaurant and I?m the only one saying I got sick. And there is nothing he?s going to do. He then proceeds tosay that they need medical reports to prove that I got sick. Then after they get that then they will investigate. I was shockedand appalled. Any restaurant that I go to and tell them about my experience they try to make it better. Instead Stripers sayswhatever and deal with it. No wonder they are the lowest rated restaurant in the area.
