The vibe in this place was totally off !!! The food was ok just a high end fish and chip spot!! Nothing soul food about it !... I?ve never been to a place where I have to step to the side view the menu then pay for my food before being seated !! The musicon the tv was so loud I felt like I was screaming to have a conversation with the people beside me ! The staff was not veryfriendly at all ! Don?t ask for a photo op she says oh I don?t do pictures!!! Lmmfao you should get a betterpersonality!!! Where is the soul food didn?t see anything considered SOUL FOOD on the menu?. !!??? Mannnnnn GOOD GOOD... I really didn't know what to expect so i tried the smothered pork chops with greens and sweet potatoes...... A+ not over seasoned but seasoned, pork chops were tender, greens tender & seasoned and i got the fish & shrimp combo...surprised that the shrimp were jumbo & the fish didn't even need hot sauce... good pricing for what you get..will be one of myregular spots to eat at.. I love Our Peoples! Born and raised in OceanView so I love that they put their location out here. The customer service is... excellent and so is the food. Their new location is so beautiful as well. The atmosphere is always welcoming. They also takenecessary precautions when it comes to having a safe and clean environment especially during this time of covid. I highlyrecommend!! Read more

Being a seafood lover I have to say that if you are in Hampton roads and you have not visited this restaurant yet you are doing... yourself a disservice the chef clearly has some existential relationship between seasoning and seafood because he has found themagic that makes food taste like a temptation that you just cannot resist go by this ocean view location the staff is all familyand you can sense the love from the moment you walk in to the second you dig in and leave always an amazing experience Read more
You refuse service to people not wearing masks but I see people in the kitchen with the door wide open not wearing them. If you... really care about safety, don't be hypocrites. Food looks good though. Read more
