Ok, so let me start off by saying that the service was very excellent; guy was attentive, and the food arrived very quickly. ... The primary reason they are only getting 3/5 is because the place was a bit nasty. Now I give them credit that they beganpicking all the stuff up after I arrived but when I got there, there was maybe 4 clean tables on the street view side of therestaurant. My lonesome self got a whole party booth because every other table was dirty. They seem to have had the wait staffalso doubling as bus duty, which is kind of strange. Food was great, and very quick however when they brought it out there wasno mit on the handle. Since i'm already aware this is a hot plate, I did not make the mistake of touching it but someone elsemay not have been so lucky. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Denny?s is still on Newtown Road, Va Beach. It?s been a while since I been in the area. But... I remember there was a location directly across from the current location. People if you haven?t tried the pancakes at thislocation (salute to the 2:30 pm cook) they were the fluffiest cakes I?ll had in awhile. It was a cloud of pancake heaven, yetformed in a circle. Go try them for yourself. You mouth will thank you. The server, like most places?there are usually one. Received free green stuff included with my eggs. Server only came by twice, once to take my order and once to drop off food so... never got to say anything to the staff until I was fed up and wanted to leave. I had to stand by the cash register to getsomeone to notice me to get my bill so I could pay and go. Edit: I have been in the restroom almost the whole rest of the daywith a stomach ache after an hour of having food here. Read more
This was my first time at a Denny's I got the Customizable grand slam breakfast this morning for veterans day, and the service... was good and the food was prepared exactly how I requested. The staff was kind and courteous. As a first time customer I'll forsure go back. Read more
The good: The pancakes, hash browns, and bacon were good. The fries (I tried some) were okay, and the chicken strips were fine... according to the 13 year old with me. I didn?t particularly like the chicken strips (I tried some), but they were fresh.Overall, the food was good but nothing special. The bad: The seat (booth) were we sat was very sticky. We literally had thesound and feel of being stuck when we stood up. The waitress wasn?t too attentive, but she was friendly.
