Everything about Captain Groovy's is done with excellence. From the freshly shocked oysters to the perfectly steamed clams for... appetizers. The half salad would be considered a full salad at most places. Had them Mac and crab and it was delicious. Thedrinks were cold and the service was great. Fried shrimp were perfectly cooked. She crab soup is the best I've had to date. I ended up getting 2 cups! Next time it will be a bowl. The prices are great and the... service is on point! Fantastic seafood restaurant with great oysters! We got the raw, spinach and bacon and the garlic Parmesan and they were all... delicious. Cooked perfectly! We also got the NOLA mussels which were in this light creole sauce that was so good we got 2! Iwould definitely recommend this place for excellent seafood and laid back atmosphere! Read more

We came for a nice dinner to do a celebration dinner for my sister. The restaurant wasn’t too busy. When we walked in we... weren’t greeted. After a min they sat us down inside- didn’t give us a choice if we wanted inside or out. A couple I met introduced me to Captain Groovy's and I'm so glad they did as my food was absolutely DELICIOUS!! The egg roll... appetizer w/ the collard greens in them are so unique and full of yummy ???? flavor, & my braised beef ribs melted in my mouth.Cool atmosphere, good price points and great service. This place has definitely been added to my favorites and will be visitedwhenever I'm in VA Beach!! $$$ Read more
