Our dining experience was phenomenal! The popovers are just simply delicious and needed just a touch more honey butter with the... four large popovers. The pork chop is simply divine. It has a sweet juicy flavor with just the perfect char. For a simplestandard hamburger, it was cooked to a perfect medium with a lot of juice. We WILL return. Can?t wait to try the steak. Delicious food and nice atmosphere. They have one of the best pork chops I've ever had. It had a syrupy apple and horseradish... sauce. Buttery mashed potatoes went well with it. The baked brie appetizer was great. It had a lot of fun pairings for thebrie: walnuts, dried apricots, sesame crackers, green olives, jam, etc. I didn't care much for the crab lettuce wraps. Theyneeded a little yum yum sauce or sweet chili or something. The peach salad was delicious. The sweetness of the peaches was agreat pairing with the creamy goat cheese and tart balsamic. The caramel cheesecake was delicious as well. The service seemedreally professional. One of the new owners came to our table and spoke with us. They just reopened about a month ago under newownership. It sounds like they have a lot of experience in restaurants, and the food quality is consistent with that. Theyprobably had too many customers for the amount of serving staff on this particular night, because everything was pretty slow. Wehad a group of 8 and were there for about 2 1/2 hours. 16 days ago, new management and owners re-opened this longstanding restaurant as Sherwood North. We had a large group (23... people) on a busy night. We had a great experience. Excellent wait staff. Best pork chop I have ever had ? had to be at least2? thick. The new owners came out and talked to us. They are seasoned restaurant operators and have put together a great team. First time here and found out Sherwood North only opened 10-days ago as the new owners took over this historic property. Wow!... We have been staying in the area for 4 days and had been to numerous restaurants in the area. Hands down this is the best thatwe have been to. We started out with appetizers. I had the Pickled herring platter with pickled vegetables and crispy breadand pâté. The herring was two different ways and was accompanied by pickles, pickled onions and carrots and crispy bread. Thepâté was the richness needed to cut through the acid in the pickled vegetables and this plate was extremely well executed. Itwas the first time that I had seen pickled herring on a menu in the United States. I looked up the menu online and saw this itemand made the decision to have dinner here based solely on this appetizer since I have never seen it outside of Europeancountries. The second appetizer we had was the Brie Brûlée Board. It featured toasted Brie Cheese, Crocotini Crackers, driedfruit, nuts and jam. The Brie was perfectly toasted and the jam was absolutely delicious with the right amount of sweetness tocomplement the cheese. The mildly acidic olives provided the perfect balance point to counterbalance the sweetness on theboard. The third appetizer was the Popovers served with honey butter and bone marrow butter. They were steaming hot andabsolutely delicious. We actually used some of the jam from the Brûlée board and combined it with the honey butter and it wasinsanely good (I would ask for some jam it goes so well with the popovers). The popovers are a MUST HAVE! For a main course Ihad the pork chop with Apple horseradish glaze. This is honestly the best pork chop I have ever eaten. The bone in pork chopwas perfectly glazed then grilled and it had just the right amount of char to allow the glaze to sear on the outside.
