I normally don't give a bad restaurant review because every business is entitled to having a bad day now and then, and... especially how things are of late, that's just life, but in this case I'm making an exception. My wife and I went to KentuckyFried Chicken in Newton for lunch today. She had a taco, which according to her was good, I ordered a two piece chicken dinnerwith two legs in original. What I received were two very small legs, the one that I'm holding made me feel like I was eating ababy chicken, it was not original as ordered but very over crispy and oily, both legs tough and chewy. I was thinking the 2 pcmeal used to come with slaw also, but apparently not now. The side of mashed potatoes and gravy was quite good, the water wasgood as well, hard to mess that up. This is about the 4th time I've had a bad experience at this KFC and likely the last, thereare other better places to eat chicken close by, sad because this KFC used to be consistently excellent. What was served me,after a long wait, shouldn't have even been allowed out of the kitchen. The person at the counter apologized for their shortstaff, but this too appears to be a long standing issue here. Inside dining has been been closed so we were both happy that wasfinally open. If you are traveling on I-80 and think hey let's stop at KFC in Newton Iowa DON'T. I got the two piece original recipe extra... biscuit because KFC generally has really good biscuits. My biscuits were old I mean probably yesterday warmed up old. Thechicken was cooked at least a few hours before. My extra biscuit was $1.29 for that I can make an entire batch of really goodbiscuits at home. I traveled from Grinnell to Newton 20 miles to have KFC. I just moved to the area. Trust me I will not wastemy time or gas making a second trip to Newton for KFC. What a complete and total disappointment. Read more

This was the best KFC I have ever been to. The employees were super nice, greeted my friend and I as soon as we came in. Our... food was hot and fresh. We had tenders, mac n cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy. Prefect hot meal for a chili day. Read more
Ordered a chicken combo and when I got to my car the chicken was all grey, discolored, and old. I brought it back and asked for... a fresh order. The manager explained the soggy ones I had just came out of the fryer within the last half hour? she gave me anew box of chicken from the warmer which looked better however I got so sick for the next 24 hours!
