Reviews for Los Paisas Locos in Newport News, VA
I like this tacos! They give you a lot of food! The food is good and tasty! They have a nice salsa selection and just recently... improved the place. The place and bathroom are clean. The servers are really nice. The only thing I dislike is that the music issuper loud. But if you are around Newport News and feel like tacos, go here :3 Try the quesadilla and the menudo *chef's kiss* Read more
I stopped in for lunch awhile back, service was a tad slow at times. The food I got was fresh but lacking in flavor, also the... prices for these tacos I got were pretty high. I wanna give benefit of the doubt maybe it was a bad day but if something sobasic was so bad I don't really see myself returning. Read more
Great food at pretty solid prices! Came here with a friend on a mission to get some nice tacos, and we completed that mission... here. I got an Al pastor taco, a chicken tostada, and rice and beans, and it was all great. I’m a tough critic of rice, and Iloved this one, although I’ve had better Mexican rice (nothing wrong with it though!). The tortillas were handmade, but alittle too thick and doughy - some bites you end up just tasting the tortilla at the end. The chips and salsa at the beginning:the chips were not made fresh there, you could tell they were from a bag, and the salsa was lacking a bit; no spice, quitewatery, mostly tomato flavor. But they do have a salsa bar, which we discovered had some other excellent salsas - especially thegreen one!! Their green salsa is awesome. I also got an horchata, which, I don’t think I understand what a great horchata is,but this one (like most others I’ve had) tasted just like Cinnamon Toast Crunch milk. The tostada was amazing. It was my firsttostada, and I don’t know much about them, so I don’t know if this one was super legit or quality or authentic or anything, but it tasted great (even though it was a little bit cold). The environment was okay, but they have two big TVs in the backplaying Spanish music videos very loudly, and much of it was inappropriate, so that was a bit disappointing. Overall, I wouldcome back again, though. Service was also very good and fast! I do recommend! Read more
During this holiday time, please be patient with staff at restaurants and other businesses. They have enough problems dealing... with understaffing and trying to please sometimes the same volume of customers while understaffed. They were definitely havingan issue with staffing on Xmas Eve. My friend ordered shrimp fajitas and I ordered the carne asada with fries. The friend wasvery happy with her shrimp fajitas. My carne asada with fries were not my cup of tea. I remembered thinking, "why are youordering that?" after the order came out of my mouth. When I return here I will definitely give the carnitas burrito atry. Despite the staffing issues, the staff present were pleasant while they were running around doing their best to keep thecustomers satisfied. I can't wait to return to try some different foods on their menu. Read more
THE BEST MEXICAN EVER!!! The drinks were delicious, even had salt IN the margaritas, the chips were fresh and the dip was great,... the fajita nachos with steak were to die for. Will definitely be making this my go-to Mexican food joint in this area! Read more
I went with a group of 6 tonight. The place was clean and very empty. The entire time we were there no one else came to eat... inside. We did see a few people get to go orders. I know we are currently living in a pandemic, but it’s still odd that no oneelse ever came in. We were there around 6:15 on a Saturday night. Worked for us though! Great social distancing. It took awhilefor the waitress to take our order. We aren’t sure why. We had to ask several time for chips and salsa. We ordered limemargaritas and food. The margaritas were good. They tasted strong. I recommend getting your margarita on the rocks because thefrozen margaritas aren’t actual frozen margaritas. They just have ice blended into them. I personally prefer frozen margaritasout of a margarita machine. Stick to a lime margarita on the rocks and you’ll be satisfied. For food we got Al Pastor Tacos. They tasted good. Lots of flavor and a little spice. I really enjoyed them and so did everyone else. Once we got our chips andsalsa, they were good too. My husband got chicken tacos and he did not like them. They were very bland and dry. When we weredone eating we had trouble getting our checks. Took quite sometime. We aren’t sure why. The waitress indicated that she wasconfused. Finally she brought our checks and then took our credit cards and was gone for a long time again. If I go again, Iwill get take out. All in all, it was an okay experience. Read more

This was my first time here, I placed order for carne guisado and chicken Tamales Guatemaltecos. I get home and realize they... replaced the guisado with another dish Carne adobada de puerco. The flavor is good but I realize its pork - I stopped eatingpork. I wish they would have contaced me first or atleast replaced the beef dish with another beef dish. The meal also came withhomemade flour tortillas, little lettuce and tomatoes sour cream salad and refried beans and rice and small bag of chips andsmall cntr of red salsa . Everything had great flavor and was seasoned well. The tamale was flavorful and large and I wassurprised it came with whole chicken drum Read more
