I know this is a Balboa Island classic but our experience was subpar. The staff was friendly but slow and brought the food with... several minutes difference. Some people in our party were done eating while others were still waiting for their food. The clamchowder tasted like canned soup and the salmon was flavorless. Most people come here for breakfast and we came for lunch. Theplace was very busy but I guess we?ll still to breakfast if we come back again. Wouldn?t recommend it for lunch. Read more
Wilma?s is a great, family friendly spot. The servers are fast and get food out quickly, which is important is you have a little... one! The meatloaf sandwich was a hit and my sourdough cheeseburger was amazing. When you get an order of fries, they?re shapedlike potato chips. I loved them! This cozy, chic, unique eatery is a MUST. From friendly and attentive servers to beach murals to 4 different small dining rooms,... each w/ its own decor. And then there is THE FOOD!!! Great service, great food. I had the clam chowder, thick and yummy. Bacon avocado sandwich was good too. The salmon salad was... over the top good, huge but it a went down without effort. Yumm. Read more
Not bad, but why do waiters literally kick customers out? There are a lot of empty seats in the evening, people are having fun,... why kick them out? Once again, my family and I came here for dinner. Found this little gem while we were visiting Balboa Island over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The place is able to hold more... diners than you think, they also had outside heaters for diners who preferred to be outside. The food was great, well portionedand not real expensive. I had French Onion soup with yummy melty cheese on top while my husband had the smaller serving ofmeatloaf, mashed potatoes n gravy. He also had the pumpkin pie which he said was the best he's had in a long time. Thank you formaking our night of exploration of the area a great night. We came in for lunch. Every time we have dined here it has always been fun. Great service, the food is always delicious and... people are friendly. We shared a quesadilla which is more like a pizza or lasagna type dish. The prepare two tortillas withcheese, lettuce chicken in the middle with sides of guacamole, salsa and sour cream.
