Place in general is nice, ocean front view, server we had was named Ali and he was super super nice, like you can tell he loves... his job, he was very tentative, food I would rather ok nothing spectacular for being ocean front, don't get me wrong it's notbad at all I enjoyed it, but food items could use some change up and tweaks to give us more of a pizazz ! This place is amazing!!!!! Super cute spot and not too pricey. Great views from the oyster bar on the 2nd floor. Elizabeth was... our waitress and she was friendly and speedy. Truffle fries were amazing, wish they were just hotter. The ceviche was also theperfect amount of citrus and seafood mixed to taste. Hubby had the swordfish blackened which he thought was great and I hadshrimp pasta, the garlic cheesy bread was so good. Highly recommend!! Read more
The name,, Newport Landing, refers to a nice little area where a cute little pair of 3 car ferries bring cars and people across... the little strait to and from Balboa Island. There's a recreational area with rides appropriate for children. The NewportLanding Restaurant is quite good. It has valet parking, and there's also street parking. We had calimari. It was reasonablygood. I had New England Clam Chowder. It was very good. I also had mussels in marinara sauce, also good, and a garden salad. Therestaurant was clean and neat. I would rate that place more than 5 stars if possible, we did not have any reservations on a Sunday afternoon which is obviously... a busy time of the day but yet we were welcomed and accommodated in less than 10 minutes and probably in the best place on theupper deck patio where you can see the awesome view and enjoy the nice music, the whole vibe is outstanding, the drinks and thefood are good but the service and the place complimented the whole experience. Prices are reasonable for such a place in balboaisland, portions are good but definitely could be better, the food is fresh and taste good, the place is very authentic and thedecorations and wall mount pictures add to the general ambience, it is highly recommended specially of you are more intoseafood. The Newport Landing Restaurant has been one of my Go To restaurants for years. The upstairs of the restaurant has one best bay... views on the Balboa Peninsula, with wonderful food options, cocktails and a nice casual atmosphere all for a very fair price....Highly recommended!!! Read more
Charbroiled oysters are the best I've had in awhile. So fresh and delicious. Service was awesome, our food and drinks came... fast and stayed full. Very laid back place on the water with great happy hour prices all day. Read more
