In preparation for a family dinner the night before my son?s wedding, my wife and I went to Newport to find a restaurant that... could accommodate 20 people on a Friday night. We visited most of the restaurants in the downtown area and found Sardella?s tobe the most accommodating and willing to meet our needs. The night of the dinner we were amazed to be seated in an area where wewere away from the rest of the patrons and very comfortable. The food was incredible and for an Italian restaurant they alsooffered seafood, short ribs and pork chops. My 20 guests, from 5 different states, enjoyed the full menu including appetizersand drinks. Each person was extremely delighted with the food, drink, atmosphere and service. We were given a dedicated server.Matt was fantastic! He ensured that everyone was happy. Came here for the first time and was swept away! Our server Nicole was awesome. Super friendly and attentive. Food was... spectacular risotto, calamari; All the good stuff. With a Good wine selection as well. The marinara sauce is the best I?ve had.Highly recommend! Will be back. Read more
Had the chance to finally try this place and it?s now my new fave Italian spot in Newport. First and foremost it?s very big... inside which you might not be able to tell from the outside. There?s traditional indoor seating as well a really cool bar thatopens to an enclosed ?porch? - and because that area is technically external, it is small pet friendly! The atmosphere is fun,casual?not pretentious by any means. People were flowing in from off the street the whole time, so it?s not a secret. Wouldrecommend making reservations especially if it?s a popular/holiday weekend. The food menu isn?t huge or overwhelming, which ishonestly a breath of fresh air. They make the Italian standards really well and all at affordable prices (Same for drinks!) Igot the chicken parm which was a great portion without being too much. Perfectly breaded, juicy on a bed of pasta and theirexcellent sauce. (Saw someone else get the pizza which looked great, going to try that next time!) Read more

I'm speechless about this amazing place. I went with my brother-in-law and his wife, and of course with my wife who was her... birthday and it was unforgettable. Our host was Yomaira ???????? she rocks. We ordered one (Caesar salad) 100% recommended itwas FANTASTIC, Caesar dressing was homemade. Two entrees (Parmesan Fried Eggplant with homemade marinara sauce WOW! and Burratawith arugula and cherry tomatoes) DELICIOUS. Lobster Ravioli THAT WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD the BEST dish of that night for sure.Lasagna for my wife, she was happy because it's her favorite dish. Chicken parmesan with Alfredo sauce, and for me Napoli pastaportobello mushrooms and pink sauce THAT WAS LIT. For cheers two bottles of MOSCATO PEACH. ???? I'll come again FORSURE. Made a reservation for my husband and I for New Year?s Eve. We were seated within a minute- the server came shortly after, we... ordered drinks that arrived right away, and placed our food order after that. We both got the lobster bisque as an appetizer andthe NY Sirloin for the entrée. We also shared a lava cake with ice cream for dessert. The food was great and it came out sofast. The ambiance was amazing- such a cozy restaurant. Our waitress was attentive and very polite. Great experience. Happy NewYear! Read more
Came to Newport for an anniversary and had a hard time finding somewhere to eat that didn't have an hour wait. Lucky for us we... found Sardella's who seated us immediately in a booth with a nice atmosphere and great service from the staff. The food wasamazing! The salmon was some of the best I've had. Visited in late October. What a beautiful restaurant with character and attractive décor. We sat at the bar and the bartender... John was great. He was knowledgeable about the menu and answered any questions we had. We split the Caprese Salad for an app(it was huge and was like getting 2 appetizers for the price of one). We enjoyed the Chicken Piccata as well as the EggplantParmesan (with a side meatball). The Chicken Piccata was impressive (as the chicken was moist and tender) but it could have hada bit more flavor. Under the chicken (this is why I always get this and my Parmesan dishes NEXT to the pasta) was dry andtastless. I added a touch of olive oil (they thankfully had out), salt, and I squeezed a lemon onto it. It was definitelybetter. I really enjoyed the sauce on the Eggplant Parmesan, noticing hints of garlic and basil. The eggplant melted in yourmouth. SO good, but sadly a rather small amount of eggplant. The meatball, however, was rock-hard and overly salty. They havea stone pizza oven in their other bar (place is huge) and the pizza looks great. Giving 4 stars for the ambience and characterin this beautiful restaurant, as well as the sauce and the anticipation of coming back to try more of their menu! Read more
