Absolutely love Nigiri-Ya. Staff are very attentive. They've remembered our order from the third time we visited. They know... exactly what we want. We feel terrible that we are always coming in late at 8pm but the staff are very nice about it and havenever rushed us. The food is amazing and delicious. This place has quickly become our new favourite. Read more

This is a good alternative from the usual higher priced sushi restaurants in the area. Relatively no frills, simple decor and... friendly staff. We got a sushi combo A and does come with edamame and tempura. I took a few shots of the menu. They have a dinein combo option that reminds me of the Yonge and Finch area. This place has 4 tables, with 4 seats and 4 bar counter seats. Read more

This sushi spot called ?Nigiri-Ya? by far the most fresh sushi I have ever tried. There?s a nice lady name ?Gee? who was my... server, did an excellent job making sure I?m comfortable and got what I needed. The food took less than 10 min to arrive to mytable, and in the mean time they brought me a free on the house appetizer. I was very impressed by the quality of service andfreshness of the food. They have another location Toronto downtowns where they?ve been open for over 10 years. They just openedthis second and new place in Newmarket Ontario (5 Months). Lucky the people of Newmarket. I am totally recommending this newspot to all the ppl in Newmarket who loves sushi, to go and check it out!! You won?t regret it. Read more

The quality of their sushi is unbelievable in every detail. I ordered a custom platter, veggie futo maki, yam roll, salmon... sashimi and stuffed mushroom. Their rice is made with the perfect balance of zesty and sweet, unlike most other sushi placesthat make their rice too heavy either on sugar or vinegar. The ratio of the ingredients in their rolls is meticulously portionedout so that you can taste each ingredient without having one overpower the other. The texture, colour, and flavour of the salmonsashimi are a display of freshness at its finest. I find deep fried yam in other sushi places gets too greasy when it gets coldbut the yam roll at Nigiri-ya tastes consistently great even after the roll has been sitting there for a while. And the stuffedmushrooms were absolutely fantastic. I can't believe I had all of this amazing experience from a take-out order, at such a goodprice too. The chef here is a truly a master of his art. One of the best Japanese restaurants I?ve been to in Aurora. The sushi and sashimi were so delicious. The people there were also... very nice and helpful to choose from their signature rolls, some of which I was unfamiliar with. Smokey teriyaki salmon was sogood. They also included fatty tuna sashimi in the box, which I really enjoyed. My kids loved the shrimp tempuras and tonkatsu.Would love to try more on their menu. Read more
