Edit: unfortunately when we came today with our friends and wanted to pay with cash and get 10% off, we were told we could only... do that if the entire table pays with cash. Even though we did separate bills and were allowed to pay with cash previously on adifferent visit with friends. Doesn?t make any sense. Excellent experience! I gave one star for the following reasons: 1. When I called to place the order the lady who picked up the phone was so rushed... and even hung up on me before I even finished my sentences. 2. The sushi or maki rolls of the party trays that I ordered wereloose so when I picked them up using chopsticks they were falling apart. Read more

My family took me here for my birthday. The staff was friendly and the food was top quality. My kids loved the sizzling steak... and chicken. We were in Newmarket a couple of days ago and decided to go for all you can eat sushi at Golden Maki. I haven't been there in... about 5 years. Well, it won't be that long again. Their food is amazing. Good ingredient to rice ratio. Nothing overpowersanything else. You can taste each fresh ingredient. What really stood out for me and I ordered it every time we submitted anorder was the Volcano Spicy Roll in the Special Rolls section. It's rice paper with salmon. avocado, crabmeat and crispy toppedwith the spicy sauce. It sticks to the plate and to each other but the battle to get it to your plate in one piece is worth it.The spicy sauce is not that spicy so if you like just a little bit it's perfect but if you like a bit spicier then go for thewasabi. it is tasty and has the kick you might be looking for. I was so excited to eat everything that I completely forgot totake pictures of the food we ordered. The service was quick, friendly and helpful. There was a steady flow of customers for bothdine in and take out. The majority of dine in customers were enjoying the all you can eat lunch menu. They have a new iPadordering system which is very easy to use once you get the hang of it. There is no waiting for someoone to pick up your order,it goes straight from the iPad to the kitchen. Besides being very efficient it was nice to be able to see what you orderedpreviously so it was easy to reorder. Unfortunately, we were there for lunch and sashimi is only available for dinner. I won't lie the food at Golden Maki is amazing, the prices aren't terrible either especially if you're doing all you can eat.... However, the servers were rude, ignoring us, giving us our bill before we even started desert. Seemed like they really wanted usoutta there. But if you want to try something great, I really liked the cheese wontons and the California rolls but this reviewhas two stars because of the terrible service.
