Been here many times before and never had a horrible experience. Today however I had one of the most frustrating golf outings of... my life. Ranger told us on hole #1 that the group in front of us ?convinced? him to let them go off as 5-some. But that weshould play through if it became an issue. He then approached us on hole #3 after the pace had significantly slowed and told ushe would talk to them so we could play through on the next hole. To our surprise when we arrived at the next tee box, the rangerhad instead let the 5-some play through the 2some in front of them. The pace of played deteriorated even more. Worst coursemanagement I?ve ever experienced. We played 7/9 holes and left. Read more

No thrills, a nice little course and bar with great pizza. Friendly people make everything a bit better.

Labor day 2021.Update:Removed negative review, 5 stars for great customer service!. The sincerity of the response to the... negative post was extraordinary. Customer concern like that keeps customers. We hope to continue golfing at the Rock in thefuture with less interruptions and we are certainly willing to try. Thank you, Calvin! Read more

I live locally and recently got back into golfing and this course minutes away. Was warned by other golfers that the course is... lower quality but for $20 why not? Well unfortunately their assessment was accurate. I know we are in a drought but thefairways are by far the hardest and driest I have ever played on. The greens are actually very nice. The holes are all prettymuch straight as the course is jammed in a tight block of land. Good if you don?t want to lose your ball but not challenging. The worst thing is that the past two times I?ve played the speed of play is the slowest of any course. Today I walked off thefirst fairway after standing there for 10 minutes waiting for groups to move. I received my money back and won?t be using thatcourse again. Exeter is right up the road and is far superior. Read more

So, 3 stars is a little generous, but let me explain. This place is OK for what it is. Its not some fancy country club, thats... for sure. This is a good place to practice or to learn the game if you're new to it. Its a fairly short 9 hole course thats wideopen. They have 2 practice greens and a nice hitting net to warm up in. On the topic of greens, they have some of the nicest, greenest, firmest, true rolling greens I've ever played. Thats probably the only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 1. Nowlet's talk about the "fairways"......they dont exist. The area where you would typically try to hit your ball thats normally anarea with short grass, yeah they don't have those. They have dirt, and some areas of burnt grass. So, in short if you'relearning the game, want a laid back atmosphere, appreciate plush greens, and don't care much about fairways, this is your place.I did actually enjoy my round though and I will be back. 9 holes walking for $20 ain't bad. Always enjoy playing here, it's great for all levels of experience the way the tee boxes are spaced and there's a couple short... holes as well but the way they're placed they can be difficult, it's a fun course to play! Read more
