The taste of the food had always been great. But the price for what you get is insane. I keep giving this place another chance... after chance, but they rarely pay attention to the notes in the online orders. They skimp out on things even when you ask forextras. I?ve emailed and have received refunds and apologies. I don?t want a refund or apology, I want the portions to becorrect, I want the problem to be fixed not covered up with a sorry we will do better here is your money back. Just DO BETTERFIX IT PLEASE. I want so badly to like this place because the food IS good but they continue to skimp out and don?t actuallywork on fixing any of the issues. Read more
They have good things for sale here, but it's *not* cheap. Rather pretty expensive actually, and something that really soured my... mood was that they swung around the checkout-machine for me to enter tip - for buying a cheese slicer! That is just notok. [Response to the owners' comment]: It's a bad habit to have. Rather swing it around for prepared food orders only, and letthe customer ask to tip of they feel inclined to do so. I don't really buy the receipt 'transparency' argument. You can tell thetotal, like any shop in the past, and ask if the customer wants a receipt. Should they, you'd be perfectly fine swinging overthe screen... You don't want to make a customer feel pressured to tip in an already quite luxurious setting like your store (andit feels more like a store than a restaurant in any case). It's that bad feeling of being a little ripped off that makescustomers avoid a return visit (like me). Read more
I got the grilled cheese and the truffle potato chips. The grilled cheese was probably one of if not the best I've ever had!
I usually get the Falafel sandwich which is my go to in Newburyport when I want something healthy and delicious, but I just had... the banh mi with tofu, and it was phenomenal, totally hit the spot. Y'all rock! Read more
My husband hired Joppa to cater my 50th bday and I can?t praise them enough! Every platter was outstanding. Great food,... beautifully presented. I?ve been going to Joppa for years and years but hadn?t thought of them as caterers. They were superhelpful in suggesting options and quantity. My husband and I love this place. We live close by and whenever we have company having a nice lunch there is always on the... agenda. We have enjoyed so many times the Biscuit Sandwich for breakfast which is absolutely delicious. The nicest people workthere, the vibe is fabulous and all around great food so you can't go wrong. During the pandemic they have been doing take outso absolutely check out this place. It is a neighborhood gem for sure. Read more
I visited this establishment on a trip to the area last year in the summer. It was for my niece's graduation and we were picking... up some prepared foods from this store and I couldn't have been happier with the experience all around. I was met with veryhelpful and friendly staff and the packaging and service on our items was superb. The quality and freshness of the food wasexemplary and everyone at the celebration commented on how great the food was. I'm vegan and was impressed by the foods I pickedup specific to my dietary preferences (which can be hard to find in prepared foods sometimes). I highly recommend thisestablishment to anyone and I have no doubt that I will be back when visiting the area again. Read more
