????Oh My... I don't know if it's the fact that I didn't get my crabs all summer but when I finally sat down, it was a... celebration ????and we ordered snow crabs, blue crabs, hush puppies, shrimp and fries. It was ???? amazing, the crabs weren't asplumped as they normally were than as if it was the beginning of the season but you have to expect that, it's at the end of theseason. But it was a wonderful place to sit at. The family and I went there for my birthday and it was a very nice time. My onlyconcern was there was not much help, there were, I think three waitresses for the whole place and it was pretty busy. So ourdrinks would be low or down to nothing and we had to seek out to get a refill. The atmosphere was a little cold so the butterfor the crabs hardened up very quickly, so there was a couple times we had to ask for extra butter. It seemed like all thewaitresses worked together so we may not have had the same waitress the whole time but we tipped according to three waitressesso instead of giving 20% we gave a tip about 40% cuz it was a very pleasant atmosphere, they were all very friendly. It was verylively. It was a comfortable atmosphere, wasn't stressed out. It was a very laid-back relaxed dinner. I would recommend thisrestaurant for a great crab feast???? Read more

Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Had the all you can eat crabs. The crabs, corn and hush puppies were delicious. I... don't know if it was just today as this was my first time here but the salad bar wasn't all that. I would come back though. Read more

Unfortunately this was my worst experience at Captain John's and I doubt that I will ever be back, is no longer worth the long... drive to get there or the outrageous expense. I took my wife and twin sons there the evening of Thursday, August 4, 2022, andit wasn't until we received the bill (since it wasn't publicly disclosed or displayed anywhere) that we discovered a surchargeof $5.31 (which appears to be 3% of the total bill before tax based on my calculation) for use of a "credit" card. We alsodiscovered (since alcohol prices aren't displayed in the menu either) that we were charged $17 ($16.99) for a pitcher of draftbeer (which is way overpriced). So in addition to the surcharge itself, we also paid the MD state sales tax (6%) on thesurcharge, and the 9% alcohol tax on top of the overpriced pitcher of draft beer. I asked our waitress if I used my debit card(which is the same as cash) then would I be charged the cash price and she said yes, but that wasn't the case at all. Soinstead of a "credit" card surcharge as displayed on the bill, they're really charging a surcharge for use of any cardtransaction (which should be transparent and made known to customers upfront but is not), and that surcharge should not be taxedthe additional MD state sales tax. The alcohol prices should be transparent and made known upfront too. As far as the food, itwas good, but definitely not worth the increased cost and expense compared to the smaller portion sizes and very little crabmeat that came in the lump crab dip appetizer (was too creamy with hardly any crab meat, mostly just sauce, no lump at all) andsoup (both cream of crab and MD crab soups had very little crab meat in them and no lump at all). So don't waste your timeordering these items or alcohol. We've had a lot better experiences in the past the others times we've been, but now it appearsthat Captain John's has gone down hill and not lived up to the reputation it once had. For my family of 4 the tot Read more

Great spot when the crabs are in season. In and outside seating. Our waitress had a chip on her shoulder but the service was... passable and they were busy. Read more

Restaurant was clean including bathrooms. Service was a little slow. I originally ordered the Cajun seafood boil but ended up... sending it back because it was not good at all. The portion was very small and it lacked adequate seasoning. The crabs weregood however we paid large pricing for medium sized crabs. The food was definitely fresh and not greasy. Our waitress could'veused better customer service skills however the manager seemed to be nice and had no problem resolving issues brought up bycustomers. We will return. Read more

I know there is a staff shortage so I will go easy on them. We did wait about 30 minutes for the first tray of all you can eat... blue crab and shrimp. I am vegan so I don?t eat them but my significant other said they are definitely worth the wait. We wereseated on the pier with some beautiful scenery of the water and all the boats. If you are vegan you will be hard pressed foroptions. I had salad and French fries but my man loves this place and you will enjoy the view. Read more
