I had lunch there, got a few pieces of sashimi and then a plate with sashimi and one roll. It was good, but average. Basically... what I'd expect from a generic sushi place. I can't comment on anything else because that's all I've had. I will probably goback when I get a sushi craving because it's close. I still can't figure out the plastic light that came with my sushi. I don'tneed worthless garnishes. Read more

Honestly it looks super pretty but the flavor is just bland. The beef was too well done and dried. The sushi didn?t taste fresh.

This review is about 7 years in the making. This is Newberry/Jonesville's best kept secret and my all-time favorite sushi... restaurant. My ex siblings-in-law recommended this place years ago and it soon became our go-to for dinner double dates, regulardates and family outings. I don't live near Gainesville or Newberry anymore, so I don't get to eat here as much as I'd like, butI recently came back and it's just as good as I remembered. There was a time when Dragonfly in Gainesville was the place Ifrequented for great sushi and while it's still a marvelous place to eat, I actually much prefer Fuji's, which I think isslightly superior. Plus, parking is awful downtown G'ville. Fuji's fried and deep fried sushi rolls are my favorites. TheirDynamite Roll, Sumo Roll, and Mount Fuji Roll are truly sublime! Let me just add, I love to eat, so I've had many a good meal inmy time and I have my favorites... So I can say with confidence and certainty that Fuji's sushi is the greatest I've evertasted. I know it may sound hyperbolic, but trust me, it's not... Taking those first few bites is almost euphoric; I mean,eyes-rolling-in-the-back-of-the-head kind of feeling. Their non-fried rolls are superb too, but that special crunchiness fromthe fried ones are just out of this world! They put care into their dish presentation (just look at their photos!), the fish isfresh, the service is always good and even crazier are the prices, which are surprisingly affordable! It's always cooldiscovering fantastic little hole-in-the-wall restaurants and this one is no exception. Not to mention, there is plenty ofparking. Of all the reviews I've written, this one case where I'd give 6 out of 5 stars if I could. Best food I've ever tasted,at least in my opinion, and everyone else I know that has been there also love it. Highly, HIGHLY recommend! Read more

Been here a few times and the food and service is always phenomenal. Best sushi in the Gainesville area hands down. The gyoza... are also fantastic, and they have great premium sakes to choose from. The owner was our server this past visit, and he was arockstar. He made sure our meal and visit when top notch. We'll definitely be back again soon! Read more

Great value for good food for people living around the area. There was no wait to be seated, but we had to wait a bit to get our... food because of pick up orders. We recommend their rolls over their sushi. Read more

Small and casual sushi restaurant. The fish tasted pretty fresh, but the rolls are definitely more westernized. Most of the... sushi rolls are either covered in mayo and eel sauce or have cream cheese. Prices are reasonable for Gainesville area. Servicewas friendly and we didn't have to wait long for food. Wonderful dining experience, the food and service were well above standard. Thunder Roll, Spider Roll, and Crunchy Shrimp roll... were works of art almost too beautiful to eat. Everything tasted as good as it looked, and we now have a new favorite restaurantto go to! Thank you Fuji Sushi for a great dinner! Read more
