Firstly, I can remember when West Side Market was a much smaller store in 1998 when I first moved to the neighborhood, and even... back then, the selections offered in the fresh produce departments (fruit&vegetables)were decent. Nowadays there are many moreveggie and fruit options available including, organic. Always carefully inspect before you make your selections though. The hotfood section along with a nice array of homemade soups has always been amazing. The hot brisket is crazy good. It comes highlyrecommended! These days after they expanded the market space, the selections are now, even more amazing! Check out the beerselections.The cheese section has cheeses from all over the world and the fresh produce section now is quite impressive. Thedeli section is amazingly stocked with many great varieties of meats.I recently bought fresh fish there and it was very freshand well priced. This is my go to market for the last 25+ years and not to mention, it?s open 24/7. A little pricey in someareas, but we?re in NYC. This place is my happy place. They have the best cheese selection from almost every country. And the prices are so good. I also... like their produce section it seems like their produce is always fresh. And I like all the different varieties this placeoffers. Also, if you are looking for A delicious dessert, for example like a cake, they have almost every slice of cake you canthink of. Read more
Most things are even more expensive than Whole Foods, can?t even find a dozen eggs under 6 dolors. The people working here have... a horrible attitude. Read more
A little overpriced for the quality and quantity of food you get for hot/cold bars, prepared foods, and groceries. Hard to find... things. Produce looks fresh all the time ??. Desserts look better than they taste. In my experiences, at best, the staff doestheir job. At worst, they are annoyed you are there. Read more
Interesting selections. Lots of different kind of pastas. Lots of Italian food and lots of sauces and they had some fresh... groceries as well. Lots of the fresh produce was out in the streets. It was a typical New York kind of a grocery shop. It wasinteresting to look at the cakes in the back and the space is actually a lot bigger than I thought it would be. Read more
This location is poorly maintained. Overpriced and often sells expired products (chips, bread etc). I have given the store... several tries and this was my last attempt to give them my business - purchased a pack of tomato juice cans and there isdisgusting mold and growth in the packaging. There are several good food markets om the west side, but Westside is a mong the best. Large selection of quality fruits and... vegetables cheese and meat. A really good selection of prepared food, sandwiches and salads. Great staff, nice and helpful. Ilove this place. Read more
This is the MOST bizarre thing. Every single cheese I have ever purchased from their self-packaged section has tasted off and I... have had to throw it out. I am guessing they are not keeping track of or correctly labelling their sell-by dates. Read more
