One of my favorite interiors in NYC. Very cozy, especially for a winter meal. The bar is great, and the bartender is very... friendly. The food is solid, with a lot of thought out into the menu. I?ve been quite a few times. On my recent visit fordinner, I shared a few salads with the table, but had the scallops as an entree. It was a rich dish, but just what I waslooking for. The wine list was extensive, and the sommelier was helpful. My only complaint is the wine list is still digital, Iprefer the book! Read more
Waverly Inn is reliable. In the summer, the outside tables are lovely. In the winter, their barroom has a fire and is a terrific... place for a drink and a burger. It?s usually pretty easy to get a table (it?s big and open all day) and the menu is large enoughthat most people can find something good on it. The food is consistently good, sometimes very good. It?s probably not going toamaze you, however. And the prices are high, though not entirely unreasonable. It?s usually my go-to when I need a last-minutereservation with a finicky crowd, knowing that we?ll be able to get in and find something to eat and drink, even if we have topay a bit more for it. Beyond cosy, American-Italian restaurant where you want to come back to despite mediocre service Food: excellent, although not... all dishes are as great scallops and miso chicken, burger are nice. 4.5/5 Service: very rushed, Impersonal and misses finesse.When removing the plates our waiter didn?t ask whether we enjoyed our dishes as an example. Similarly for the check. The foodand the setting deserve better service. 2.5/5 Setting: lovely, romantic. Inside spots are better than street outdoor seating.Garden has cost fireplace. Overall, the food is fine but extremely pricey and the quality doesn?t match the exorbitant price. Nonetheless, the Waverly Inn... is a known hotspot of many Manhattan celebrities, and I think the ambiance is why. We dined in the covered back garden area, andit is truly beautiful. Our server was also wonderful, attentive while not rushing our group. Among the food/drink, I canrecommend: 1) The Waverly Lemonade, 2) the free biscuits, and 3) the triple chocolate mousse dessert! Finally a brunch at the Waverly Inn! A long time on the list and a fantastic setting to celebrate an important milestone in a... young couple?s future. We appreciated the recognition of where the best East Coast oysters are to be found?ie, north of NY LongIsland?the Canadian and American New England. The burger was as good as we read about. Perfectly juicy in its medium rarecooking. The dijonaise was fantastic! We finished with a double dessert?ie the pudding was one of the best I ever had; and thechocolaty mousse. Boo! ????We didn?t see any ghosts that haunt the Inn however we did have some great brunch food and excellent service. The dark... decor, breathtaking paintings, and crackling fire places transported me back to a different time in New York City?s history, andI felt almost honored to be eating in such a iconic place. The place is really cozy and in a nice neighborhood. We got a place in the terrace which is lovely and it is quite warm despite... the cold weather. The service is really good, they were fast to serve our dishes and refilling our water. The wine list hasvariety, the food is yummy, the menu has different dishes like chicken, fish, meat, pasta and pot pie, besides that they havesome special options for the day. We really enjoyed our evening at this place and it is our second time there. It is definitelyworth considering. Read more
