You should go for the ambiance. It is one of the oldest bars in the city. John the bartender will tell you about the bar top... which is original. Food is good, it's pricey, but everything in this part of Manhattan is. Read more
Three years ago I gave them 5 stars, based on an amazing burger and the best onion soup I have ever had. After being away... during the pandemic, I looked forward to a visit. Last night was highly disappointing. What happened? The Onion Soup that wasdark & rich was light and masked with pepper. Not sure about the bread, too soggy to tell. And the cheese? The best my wife(a chef) and I could figure was sliced mozzarella from the supermarket. Absolutely no taste whatsoever. Sometimes you hit anoff night, but this is definitely a change in recipe, which would be really sad. I know food prices have skyrocketed and thisis a pub-style atmosphere, but I'd be willing to pay. Very quaint corner spot. Old pub feel with nice bay window seating. Also, right across from the Ghostbusters Headquarters... Station 8 Firehouse. We just got drinks, so I can't speak for the food. But the waitress was friendly and drinks came outquickly. Definitely saving this spot for future visits. Read more
