This is a good small restaurant around union square. The inside is romantic and great for a dinner date - wonderful mood... lighting that makes it feel almost Parisian. Let me apart by saying the food was excellent as was our waitress.The food was inspired & unexpected. Inventive combinations &... lovely presentation. Our favorites were the gem lettuce salad (addictive), the Stracciatella cheese appetizer (with cacao nibs),the tilefish (in a very delicate curry dish), and the simple pasta with tomatoes. If I could give it a 4.5 I would have. Areasfor improvement with cocktails & they seem to need more waitstaff. Upon arrival we were left at our table for a while beforeanyone came to serve on us, and that person knew nothing about the drink menus. I told myself to pretend I was in Europe.However once our wait person arrived she was great! I wouldn’t recommend the cocktails - don’t know if it was thepreparation? - but we returned both cocktails we ordered as they did not taste good. Not well balanced at all. As far asambience, the restaurant is on the sparse side. Not ultra modern but rather not very styled? It did look like there was a nicebackyard area however!
