Wandered in off the street one night and was blown away by the freshness, quality, and attention to detail in both food and... service. Brought my husband for omakase last night and it met my admittedly high expectations, based on my previous a la carteexperience. Unique seasonal delicacies, subtle but inspired seasoning, with attentive but comfortable service. This place is agem. I’d like others to discover it…just not so many that I can’t still get a table same-day. ;) Read more

I really enjoyed sushi here and believe it’s most affordable high quality sushi in NYC. Not as cheap as before but still... under $200. I like their old West Village location more because better neighborhood and cleaner there. This part of Chelsea isa total dump and they painted their entire place black which looks awful vs unpainted wood in old place. I may come backbecause of food but not really like ambiance or neighborhood. Read more

This is my all time favorite omakase sushi restaurant across NYC and San Francisco. The owner chef is passionate about his... ingredients and creation. He keeps his special rice warm until he's ready to make each sushi. And flavors explode with delight. The staff are welcoming and friendly. As a bonus, his sushi has magic in bringing together even strangers as friends at the endof the omakase experience. Read more

There are bar seat and table seat. Bar seat requires minimum $170 for 16 pieces of omakase. We took table seat. Made reservation... just that day morning and still lots of vacancies at dinner time. We got sushi and sashimi combination $80 (served with misosoup) to share. And add something else we’d like to eat - steamed monk fish liver, raw octopus with wasabi leaf, steamed eggcustard, squid arms with spicy cod roe, white fish and sea urchin (again!) our combination set includes sea urchin already butthe taste is so great that we couldn’t help order extra. Every pieces are fresh and flavorful! Don’t forget to have somedesserts as a perfect ending. Love grapefruit jelly. Green tea tiramisu is more like panna cotta, also amazing! A pricy placebut a breathtaking journey with artistic freshness. Highly recommend to those Japanese-style fish lover, go experience yourself! Read more

Had the 20 piece omakase by chef Kuribara serving them at his bar one piece at a time, It is the best sushi I have ever had. ... Even the usually mundane snapper and mackerel pieces were breathtaking journeys of flavor and freshness. Accompanying garnishand sauce worked in perfect unison with the fiss. The firefly squid and monkfish liver were unreal! It was the purestexpression of authentic Japanese sushi I have ever experienced. Read more

There were a few pieces that I thought were really delicious (anago, shima aji, seared otoro, black sesame ice cream) but... overall I thought it was just okay. There are other places in NYC with much better sushi. Read more

Superb sushi and atmosphere. Service a bit slow, but acceptable. Food is a 10/10 highly recommended. The tuna set is... mouthwatering and very filling. (The truffle salt seared o-toro was the highlight of the night)! Thank you :) Read more

I had the omakase at the sushi bar. Everything was really good, but there were details that made the experience less than... excellent, especially at this price point. I'm sure others will love this place. Some of the fish were slightly drier than usualand the handroll was dripping soy sauce when I received it. The bar seating is tight, the person next to me too close and Icould hear their entire conversation (I wish I couldn't have). Read more
