Reviews for Uncle Boons Sister in New York, NY
Delicious Thai food with beautiful outdoor seating - felt like we were inside a train cart!
This is a great spot in the city for some unique and artisanal Thai food. Atmosphere is awesome, menu is great, and the prices... are pretty fair. Make sure to eat inside during the summer to avoid the extreme heat while eating spicy food. Love the curriesand noodles. Read more
I am not a normal reviewer but I HAD to leave a review for this incredible meal. I am very allergic to peanuts, and I?ve had... Thai food maybe 2x in my life (even though I love it). I placed this large order hoping to get to eat Thai food, indicating mypeanut allergy. The chef called me and helped me understand the procedures they were taking to be cautious and see if I was okayto stick with my order. I am SO happy, this food is delicious and peanut-free. Highly recommend for allergy-conscious people andthank you to the team for helping me to try this cuisine when usually I strictly can?t. Read more
Amazing flavors and simply excellent food. The phat thai is incredibly good with a great tangy flavor. You can choose your... protein, but the fried chicken is great. The food overall can be very spicy if you order some of the other dishes, so make sureyou ask which dishes are spicy and make sure you can handle the heat. Read more
Was in the neighborhood and wanted to go to Uncle Boons but it was a three hour wait and we decided to try out Uncle Boons... Sister. The space is very small but decorated very eclectically. The food was delicious and we enjoyed it very much. We had theLaab Fried Chicken and the Steamed Curried Fish. Both were flavorful and filling and kept us wanting more. We will mostdefinitely be back to visit! Read more
I love this spot. The menu is aesthetically palatable and creative. The space was small but didn?t feel cramped. It?s in the... same price range as most other Thai places, but I come back again and again because it?s just so consistently good andunique. I was really impressed with the chicken curry over noodles. Wow. It was like a magic trick. Speedy, friendly, fun. Read more
So my friends invited me for a quick bite and to the naked eye this was a typical looking fast food Thai restaurant. Do it... yourself style, I ordered my meal - rotisserie chicken over rice - at the counter then made my way to my table with a napkin andutensils. Then I noticed the intricacy of the dishes as they came out the back. This is not a typical Thai restaurant I tellthem and they laugh. This is a take out style offshoot of Uncle Boons, a one Michelin star rated restaurant and the corner. Mydish comes and oh yeah, the lemony broth, the ginger garlic mix, the spicy peanut sauce were incredibly flavorful yet delicateand fleeting. Chicken perfect, rice fluffy, all the little things are on point. My friend had the fried chicken balls, similarlyintricate and delicious design. A great meal served at reasonable price and no wait?
