When we found out that several established restaurants that we used to frequent while in NYC are already closed, we searched for... other alternative. Thanks to Google.. we found this Filipino restaurant, Tradisyon. It's a bit far from the nearest trainstation and will require at least 10 to 15 minutes walk. But I tell you.. the walk is worth it. We ordered braised beef andliston kawali with fried rice; both taste good. Meal comes with broth soup. The place is small but they also have outdoorseating. The service is fast and the place is clean. The staff is friendly and has great sense of humor. It was such a surpriseto find this restaurant in the city. I will definitely come back if we happen to be in NY. Read more

This is one of the best Filipino restaurants in Manhattan. Even better, it won?t break the bank with their individual portions.... I like that they don?t mess with the recipes and provides an authentic taste of home cooked food. We?ve ordered here a fewtimes for takeout. Very efficient pick-up and instructions are always followed. We?ve tried their kare-kare, pork adobo (yum!),chicken barbecue skewers and they were all good. You can order extra meat for $5 per dish and that makes a massive serving goodfor 2. There?s also daily rotating items (off menu so you can?t order online) like chicken / pork barbecue skewers and porkisaw - really good. Call ahead to find out what?s available. Chicken Adobo - with extra meat gave us 2 wings and 2 smallthighs. Served with hardboiled egg. Their version is slightly sweeter (likely with oyster sauce). Meat is tender and flavorful.Don?t forget the adobo sauced rice! Lechon Kawali - toasted this more for extra crunchy skin. So good with the lechon liversauce. I skip the rice provided in this bowl since it tends to sop up all the pork fart snd gets too oily. Great to use as friedrice. Pork Isaw - broiled this for 2 mins to rendered out some fat and mimic the barbecue char you get when sold on the street.got caramelized crispy goodness perfect for dipping in the spicy vinegar. Reminds me of Mang Larry?s isaw in UP. Read more

Very nice place and great service. The food look authentic and good varieties. I picked the restaurant week menu which comes... with 3 sample portion appetizers and a main dish, everything served together in one platter. Overall everything is quiteflavourful and I especially enjoyed the okras!! The beef short ribs were a bit too salty to my taste but owner said it supposedto be like this and need to be eaten with the rice. I ended up peeled off the ?skin? of the beef cubes and inside was indeedok. Overall price in the restaurant was quite reasonable but personally I didn?t find the restaurant week menu to be a greatdeal as it costs $30 while the main dish usually costs around $15, but at the end I did get a small dessert which completed themeal so no more complaints! Holy moly, this place is goooood. First, the owners at the restaurants are incredibly friendly and welcome. Second, the food...... salivating as I write this. Husband ordered Kalereta na short rib, chicken adobo with garlic fried rice, lumpias, crab chips, and the calamansi tart. EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING was so good, tasted like your friend's mom who cooks well made it, butdare I say even cleaner/better? The sauce in the chicken adobo was so good, I wish they sold the sauce so I can mix it withrice and eat it. We can't wait to go back and try other dishes on the menu! Read more
