We were having a date celebrating the birthday here at Friday night, it was a 5 of 5 stars. It was a bit disappointed to me that... they don't have wine paring, but that doesn't affect our perfect experience there. For the wine I recommend the Sake, we had theKuheiji/Junmai Daiginjo. Service: 5/5 Food quality:4/5 Staffs are awesome, service is very professional. The course is $180 per person, and it takes... roughly 2 hours to experience the whole thing. The entire course is very basic, although today's course is without my personalfavorite nonkotsu(cartilage) or kawa(skin). I wish I could give this place more stars. Our experience here was exceptional. We came in to celebrate a birthday and it was... our first time trying Yakatori. The 2.5 hour time we spent here was absolutely magic to our tastebuds. Each course was paced outso well we were able to enjoy each bite without feeling rushed. The atmosphere felt intimate and the chefs proudly explainedeach piece to us which I swear made it even more delicious. You can tell how much heart they put into each course. Our server,Noon - outstanding service. The host/manager - so kind and immediately made us feel welcomed the moment we walked in. Thank youto everyone there who made our time here memorable. Amazing experience with amazing head waiter who made the experience immensely fun and delicious. Set menus with moderate pricing... and absolutely wonderful cocktails. Simply exquisite. One of my good friend went there before and he said he liked it so much. Knowing how picky he is, it got me... curious even with Torien’s high price range. So I tried and no regret, might as well come here more. As anon-professional’s guess, I think what they do extremely well is 1. fire it well at perfect balance for the yakoyori and 2.season it perfect, not too much, not too little. When said or written, it sounds super simple and nothing special, but I thinkthose are what makes their menu so great and bring it to uncharted territory (at least for me). Each menu itself and overallcourse was so well arranged for their taste. I was already quite sure that I would give 4 stars to here due to my pickyfriend’s review. But I feel I’m obliged to give them 5 given how much I enjoyed. Read more
Do not want to say more - food was absolutely orgasmic… After you tried the entire menu, try to use all your a la carte quota... on the off menu items. You can find chicken parts that other ordinary yakitori places do not have. All I can say is: beadventurous!! Thanks chef and thank you to all the staff there for the wonderful food and service. Probably the best yakitori place in the States. Taste just like it in Japan. Top notch service with waiters and waitress being... super attentive. Loved their chicken thigh and chicken wings. Would highly recommend it to everyone who likes chicken skewers. Read more
