We already know how good Tim ho wan is and this place never disappoint. Not a whole lot of varieties compared to ither dim sum... places but they do it right. Everything on the menu we had tried before and they are always good and consistent. Price is veryreasonable. Please consider opening a store in Minnesota :) Read more

I had lunch here recently for the first time in about 2-3 years and the food quality has clearly dropped. The baked pork buns... remain delicious, but all other dim sum I tried were rather bland. And the rice rolls were outright bad compared to other placesin Chinatown. Service was efficient, but not friendly. Read more

Solid dim sum for BBQ pork buns and the Sui Mai! Came here Sunday mid afternoon, no wait. I've been here several times and I'm... glad you can still rely on both of these staples, everything here else was good, but stick to the basics. Enjoy! Read more

Great spot for authentic dim-sum. It?s a smaller menu but each dish we had was delicious. Service was okay but they were quite... busy, and each dish came out piping hot. Recommend the green tea sesame buns! Read more

Perfect place for Dim sum and experience of Chinese food culture! Great for anyone who wants to try something different and... fun! Some tips: 1. They don?t have online reservations, so come and have your name sign up in their system first. Usually takesabout 30 min. Everyone needs to present to be seated. 2. Waiting area is extremely small. So, go the the Strand bookstore whilewaiting! 3. Ask for a paper menu, explore and check the food first. This will save you some time later! 4. The chef special ison the blackboard on the left side of the entrance. 5. Their food is prepared fresh daily, cook to order 6. They have vegetarianoptions. I believe most food is not gluten-free, because of the usage of soy sauce. 7. We, a group of four ordered 80% of themenu, and the price is $110 without tip. We?re pretty full, the price is reasonable. Would recommend to my friends who visitNew York. ???? Read more

Eating dim sum for dinner was a novel ide since I usually associate dim sum with the late morning/early afternoon hours.... Thankfully places like Tim ho wan allows for satisfying dim sum cravings when they hit at a random hour. I came with a group oftwo other people and got a total of five dishes. This was a different experience than having Chinatown dim sum since you orderoff a menu and the dishes are brought out, rather than having staff push around carts of steamed goodies and serving tea withthe food. The menu had lots of pictures, which made choosing easy. I do have to say that I was taken aback by the limitedselection of food. For example, there wasn't as many types of dumplings that you would generally find. In any case, the menudoes hit on the key staples of dim sum in my opinion. All the dishes served were piping hot, which totally hit the spot whenit's cold outside. My favorite was probably the fried eggplant with shrimp. The pan fried noodles were a bit bland but I guess agood balance to everything else that was a little more salty. Overall, this was good for eating dim sum if you want it at anunconventional hour. The most authentic Hong Kong-style dim sum place in New York. Everything is made fresh in their open kitchen and well balanced... in flavors and spices. High recommend their specialty pork bun, chicken feet, rice cakes, and mala cake, although you can?t gowrong with anything on the menu. Read more

Excellent dim sum. Smaller menu, but items are always fresh, quality is top notch, and service efficient. I love the noodles... in particular and I?m not a noodle person at all. The shrimp dumplings, rice rolls, and turnip cake are other favorites. Theyturn around a take our order reasonably fast, too. Read more
