Truth be told, I knew of this place decades ago, so went more out of curiosity as I had just finished a meeting in the... area. The soon-to-be-ex used to frequent this place (almost daily through 2012) until his job bid him adieu. So, I wasinterested in seeing (and tasting) what exactly was the draw that I could have possibly been missing out on whilst raising kids,minding house, and working, away from my NYC 'comfort' origins. (I was not 'born,' but certainly ' 'bred' a New Yorker Harlem,to be precise!) As the saying goes: There really is NO accounting for taste...Or, perhaps, times have changed and so havestandards. Food was meh -at best- (my colleague and I split the wings and a flavorless chicken sandwich) and the posted drinkspecial was unavailable. Wait staff was sweet enough, but unapologetically UNknowledgeable and certainly not attentive. Green,perhaps? Hard to figure out exactly when or if this place opened for breakfast. Sign on front had one time, website said another. So we... showed up at the later time and some dude told us to come back in 10 minutes. So we did. We were the only ones in therestaurant, and service was super slow. We wondered if they had to go to the store to purchase food to cook. Cost a lot for 2pieces of bread dipped in egg. Coffee was mediocre, my mug was filthy. Felt bad for the server. Read more
Food good and portion size is large. I saw calamari on some online menu but it was not on the menu. Had French onion soup and... fries. Could only eat a quarter of the fries as both portions were slightly larger than a have had before. Read more
