I used to love this place... that is until a huge bug came out of my salad. Used to have the salad once a week, and their almond... croissants twice a week. I was so disgusted and disappointed. Even more unfortunately, I didn't find the bug until I had almostfinished the salad. For that sole reason, the cook who made the salad accused me of either putting the bug in the salad or thebug having entered the salad after leaving the restaurant. Except, I didn't open the salad until I got to my apartment, andthere is no way such a big bug flew in and died in the salad without me noticing. Cannot believe that the response of New YorkBasics was not an apology and admitting their mistake, and rather simply denying their fault, accusing me a loyal customer, andasking what I wanted them to do about it. I truly regret all of the money and time and loyalty I gave to this restaurant. I liveliterally one block away, and I will never go back. This is a disgusting restaurant with no basic knowledge of how to deal withmistakes. I wish I had seen the bug before I had eaten so much of the salad, then I wouldn't have had to throw everything up. Iwould feel less disgusted, and maybe then, the restaurant workers would have dealt with the situation properly. Read more
Great pastries, great store concept and environment. Super kind and nice restaurant manager, who is genuinely caring for the... health and service for the clients, and develops innovative menus and receipts that make our lives as graduate students easier,healthier, and happier. I highly recommend this store and will also definitely try their newly added Açaí bowl next time! Read more
I have come to this coffee shop many times while I was at Columbia, and one big reason was that it was so close to campus...one... good amazing thing they make is a Greek yogurt with mix berries. I highly recommend it,. One time I was there I guess they hadran out and to my surprise a gentleman came and said they were willing to make one right away. Hands down to the amazingservice they have. Recently I have seeing their menu as they have added Acai Bowls so that will mean I will definitely be tryingthat also as I heard it's highly recommended by my friends. Read more
Food was delicious! Highly recommend the French Toast bagel. We also ordered the breakfast quesadilla, banana peanut butter... crepe and iced coffee with oat milk - everything done incredibly well and exact to specifications! Food was right on time andpackaged very well. Bonus that they paid attention to not adding utensils because I specifically asked to not have any. Sogood that I called the establishment and spoke with the manager Bobby and they were very courteous and he said he would relaythe positive feedback to his staff, which is nice to know. Staff is super friendly and the food is great, and served very neatly. They have a ton of options and even sweets. I work nearby... and this is definitely one of my favorite spots in the area. Dine in available and seats outside as well. Read more
I ordered a medium latte and my friends heard it. I was given a small one and when I said that ordered a medium one the person... who gave me not the one I ordered tried to prove it was what I ordered. It never happened to me anywhere else. Avoid this placeby all means.. there are so many coffee shops around that would give you what you ordered and definitely wouldn't say it waswhat you ordered Read more
NEVER AGAIN! The best part of the meal was the drinks; the food - if you can call it that - was served on polystyrene plates... with different coloured plastic knives and forks. I ordered crêpes which looked and tasted as if they were microwaved, thepesto was anything but pesto; we also ordered bagel omelette sandwich which had a piece of rubber squeezed between two rawpieces of bread... It was a wholly unpleasant experience and I recommend you never visit here! Read more
Ordered an iced coffee with almond milk and got a black coffee. When I asked if there was almond milk the woman who worked there... rudely said ?it?s there? and the coffee itself was really bitter and gross. I also ordered a shrimp salad and it tasted like ithad been sitting out for a while - the lettuce was soggy and the shrimp tasted like it had gone bad. I?ve avoided this placeever since. Read more
