Reviews for The Independent in New York, NY
Good food. With the flatbread the brussel sprouts could be cooked more. Overall great food, bathrooms good. Why I didn’t give... 5 stars? Well, the server was a little too pushy, and when I got my food, one of the servers had a hair in his hand it got stuckon under my plate. So…. Not sure how clean it is. Read more
What a nice place! This was some of the best tasting food I had in New York. We tried a variety of different things but my... favorite was the deviled eggs and the crispy shrimp. The drinks were very delicious. Super friendly service. I really regret notordering the New York strip. This was a nice spot to slip into before going to the theater! Oh and how could I forget about thechocolate mousse? DELISH Read more

I would recommend selling bottled water because the glasses were dirty , I ordered a glass of red wine and there was a lipstick... stain on the glass and the guy pour out the same wine in another glass. The ambiance is the nice, the workers seems nice but thecleaning protocols suck Read more
I haven't been to this address since it's prior restaurant tenant. I was pleasantly surprised by the decor. The service and... food were underwhelming. It seemed the staff were still rolling in at 12:15 so they were quite slow to seat us and take ourorder. We ordered the halloumi fries and two prime rib burgers cooked medium. The halloumi fries were good but the burgers werebland from the meat to the buns. Read more
Great place for a team happy hour in midtown, they're very accommodating for big groups and come by often to get orders. They... have a good variety of drinks and small and shareable bites. Their cocktails are very refreshing. Their giant pretzel issurprisingly soft and was one of the better orders. Their brownie dessert (pictured) was amazing and easily shareable ifeveryone in your group is feeling comfortable enough with post pandemic lifts. Definitely recommend for team bonding orcelebrations, but not for formal business meetings. You could try The Parlour Room for that. Read more
Festive, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious appetizers. I ordered a medium burger, it was well done & dry. My friends... tuna tartare was flavorless. The menu is very small, I think one is better off ordering a few appetizers and no entrees. Read more
I feel like I’ve been catfished coming here.. After seeing the photos and website I was so excited to come here for lunch! I... was so disappointed since everything about this restaurant was great except for the food! The interior was so nice and therestaurant had such a good vibe. Our server was so kind and friendly but the kitchen was so slow. This was surprisingly asalmost every table was empty. The food slowly trickled out a few dishes at a time and we weren’t able to start eatingtogether.. We particularly disliked the deviled eggs (these were strangely fried and bland), Mac and cheese (needed more cheeseand flavor) and sticky tofu (the texture was good but the flavor was off. The only redeeming quality were the drinks and amazingservice. I would only recommend coming for drinks! Especially the PREACHER MAN Read more
