Stopped here with my wife to grab a bite to eat before a concert in Central Park. We were originally going to try the Dead Poet,... which did look great from a drink-only standpoint. Unfortunately, they do not have a kitchen, so we went next door to The GinMill, because it looked like a cool place. We were right on that guess! Ended up ordering a couple of beers each, which are $2off every day from 11am-5pm, because they are a great bar that believes in happy hour every day for those times. Bar service wasfantastic and quick, and they have a good selection of beers and drinks. We also ordered food, which was great. I had a burgerand my wife had boneless wings, both of which were fresh and had massive portions. Service was fast and the food was pricedfairly. My personal favorite feature of this establishment, however, is the overall atmosphere. It?s very cozy, and even thoughit?s a sports bar, it?s well laid out and nicely decorated. The Pubs Ambiente is nice but the cocktail prices and their size is just a joke. Below you find a picture of a pineapple punch... cocktail for 9$ and it was their Happy Hour price?! Additionally of course with a lot of ice. (second picture) (Normally itwould be 12$ ^^ So there are two options: 1. They are ripping off costumers within their Happy Hour with extreme smallcocktails 2. They generally rip off with extreme small portions Either way never going back there and I recommend everyone,don?t do it. Read more

They offer happy hour deals basically out of any reasons you can think of?which is coming from the true spirit of running a bar,... I personally think. Beers taste how it?s supposed to be, and the foods are attentive to the classic while boasting their owntouch. Read more
For a private event - Held a surprise, Roaring 20s themed party at the Gin Mill, so fantastic. We needed almost no decoration,... the private room in the basement behind a locked door, was fantastic. Beautiful, spacious, and the service was perfect. Themanager assisted us with determining how to get the birthday girl downstairs without ruining the surprise. Our bartender wasattentive, fast, personable, fun, and really great at suggesting drinks for the birthday girl as well! The set up and breakdownwere easy with the staff's help, and the price of the event was completely reasonable for the great time we had. Most top shelfliquor was available for about $50/per person for three hours. The food was great, both the food that we ordered and the foodthat came with the event. There wasn't a lot of food included in the event buffet - don't plan on inviting 30-50 people andhaving a full dinner included in the price. But they did bring out a beer pong table half way through the evening, and thepitchers of beer for the games were all included. All-in-all it was such a great experience, would HIGHLY recommend for anyevent. The happy birthday sign you see in the pictures is ours, one of the only decorations we brought. Read more
