Reviews for Sushi Star in New York, NY
I went there by chance! After walking for 30 mins to reach a Thai restaurant which was rated high, I couldn’t order because... most of their food is spicy . I just looked next door and Found Sushi Star??????? Japanese Restaurant One of my favoritecuisines. I was blessed, cozy place, delicious food, and a very pleasant lady server. All my order were tasty. Once I come backto Newyork, I dine in it for sure ???????????????????????????????? Read more
Came here to look for a cheap and easy lunch, so I wasn't expecting much at all. But the quality of the sushi completely blew me... out of the water! :) The presentation was beautiful, the rice was perfectly seasoned, the ratio was perfect, they didn't skimpat all on the quality or quantity of fish, and the meal was perfectly balanced. I've had many many worse meals for double theprice. The location also makes it convenient for everyone who works in the area. So far my new favorite sushi restaurant :) Read more
Excellent sushi, fresh and really good quality, and great if you want to cater a party.
Fish was really fresh! Rolls were great. The sweet sake was a great add. I would recommend checking this place out
Love this place! The sushi is always super fresh and delicious. My fiancé and I live in the neighborhood and Sushi star has... been our fav sushi spot for almost 2 years now. The restaurant is run by a hardworking Indonesian family, who will greet youwith a smile every single day of the week! I hope they do take time off sometimes though :) In the pics are our absolutefavorites - mine is Salmon three way, and my fiancé’s sushi deluxe. Their crispy rice tuna is also one of the best I’vetried anywhere! The restaurant is simple but cozy, you can always go with takeout as well. Big THANK YOU to Ivan and hiswonderful family! Highly recommend! Read more
Simply excellent sushi and sashimi! Fresh fish, right amount and texture of rice. This is the first sushi place where I got warm... eel, which was just grilled! The place where you can enjoy the pure taste of food, without being distracted by overlycomplicated decor. Definitely coming back. Read more
Went here for lunch and they had a pretty cozy spot in Hell’s Kitchen. Great for a quick bite to rush back to the office but... I’d would recommend getting it to go since the amount of space isn’t a lot and can get crowded when the offices are back infull swing. They had my favorite Seared Salmon Belly, which in my opinion, could have been better but I’m not complainingsince it’s the closest sushi place to work and they have the seared salmon. I also tried the firecracker roll which wasabsolutely amazing. The roll was fried with cream cheese and fish inside. Absolutely amazing. A must try. Read more
Highly highly highly recommend the Crispy Rice Rolls. I have had that roll in almost every spot in the city, and nothing... compares. Not only do they have a Salmon Crispy Rice Roll option, which is rare, but the tuna one is amazing too. The rice iswarm, super crunchy, and browned to perfection, the rice is also packed in thick which is nice, most places serve a thin layerversion. Crazy Tuna and the Manhattan are also solid picks.
