Worst sushi I've ever had! We walk in and I thought it suspicious that the place was empty in New York city at almost 8pm. We... were starved. Ordered from the extremely overpriced menu, the specialty rolls were ridiculous in price. Every thing is anadd-on charge including "inside out". We thought perhaps the place was dead due to the price being too much. Ordered our food, waiter didn't bother telling us that it comes with only brown rice. It was hard and did not taste good. The Toro roll wasmushy and minced. I was told to not add anything to it as it will spoil the taste but it wasn't even a piece of fish. I wish Iwas told it wasn't a real piece of fish and instead was a mushy substance that may be some fish mixed in. It was the leftoverbits ground up together and tasted awful. The sashimi was ok though they added some sweet eel sauce to my salmon which killedit for me and the toro sashimi had an after taste but wish I had just gotten just sashimi, however the price was too ridiculousfor a single piece. Oh and the Wasabi did not even pretend to be Wasabi. I would never go back there and never recommend thisplace. Not sure how they got over 4 stars. My friend felt the same about her food and she felt sick after our meal. One of herrolls was supposed to be Yellowtail with avocado. I opened one and there was just teeny bits of fish randomly in the roll. Picture attached. I was searching for the piece of Yellowtail. I found a few little bits randomly mixed in with the rice. Most disgusting display of cutting corners and screwing customers at an exorbitant price. Overall not worth it. Im a sushilover and this turned me off for a while. I Will NEVER go back. Read more

Great omakase. Delicious. Attentive table service. Hot green tea was great as well. Highly recommend. Apologies for not having a... pic of the spicy tuna hand roll which was the first service. I ate it before I could snap a pic. I guess I was hungrier than Ithought I was ????. Read more

Was looking for a quick place to drink and try sushi - sign said best sushi place so decided give it a try. Sushi quality is... terrible. Ordered an 8 piece, sushi is given with strong sauces on top to mask the bad quality of the fish. Also ordered aveggie dumpling that had avocados for the filling - was the worst dumpling I have ever had.. Atmosphere feels more like a cheapchinese restaurant than a sushi place. Advise not to go. I loved the Nigiri sushi entree--eight pieces, each a different fish with a different sauce. Every piece was an experience--they... were so flavorful and the sauces complemented the fish so well! It's more expensive than most sushi places in the area, but onceyou have it, you'll know it's worth it. You can feel that a lot of consideration and care is put into every piece. In additionto the sushi there's a great selection of appetizers, salads, and hot foods, and creative drinks (both alcoholic andnon-alcoholic). I'm glad I work nearby so I can come here again for lunch! Read more

Sushi Sen-Nin has been an NYC staple for over 20 years. The fish is always fresh. The service is fantastic. And the vibe inside... is very unique and special. All of the rolls are fantastic. The tuna tacos and crispy rice are our favorite appetizers. Can’tgo wrong here. There are many sushi restaurants in midtown Manhattan but Sushi Sen-Nin stands out among them all for all thebest reasons. Read more

Their sign says “voted best sushi” and I’m not sure who voted or if there was even a legitimate poll. The variety of sushi... is out of this world, however, I’m a big quality over quantity kind of person. Sushi rice was dry, service outside was veryslow and the prices were high (even for the city). I’m not saying avoid this place but I wouldn’t recommend it. Go to 7/11if you want better sushi. Read more

Been here twice and the food is consistently great. The fish tastes so fresh and high quality. It doesn't taste overly gamey or... rubbery. The Salmon Tartare appetizer was my favorite! Love the way it's wrapped in thin avocado slices vs. thick chunks. TheLobster roll is my go to and the size of each piece / meat quantity is excellent. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worthit. The outdoor dining area is nicely decorated with a bit of a vibe (eg Japanese style sliding doors). The vibe inside is evenbetter. Read more

Pretty decent sushi. The tomago was good. For the Philly roll they used a very thick cream cheese so the cheese taste was... overpowering. And they just put a stick of imitation crab in the California roll (rather than chopped up) which I thought wasodd. The takoyaki was also interesting and had 3 different sauces. Overall it’s pricey and has a strange ambience in theresturant (it’s this massive room with a poorly thought out layout) so I’m not sure I’d go back. Read more
