As someone who doesn't like sushi, I now like sushi a lot more ($65 omakase). My favorite was the BBQ Eel and Tuna. Good quality... sushi at an affordable price. I made a reservation for 2 at the sushi bar using their online reservation system. We showed upearly because the reservation cancelation fee is $130. We were immediately sat and the amazing service started there. I usuallynever eat sushi because sometimes for me the flavors can be a bit overbearing, but I really enjoyed myself here. The staff madesure my sister and I did not have any dietary restrictions or food allergies before the meal was prepared. I appreciated thisbecause my sister does have dietary restrictions. Once it was communicated the staff offered substitutions. The sushi came outone piece at a time and each piece was filled with amazing flavor. The rice was a little warm and sweet which I loved. Our chefwas talking and joking with us which made the meal and experience even more fun. Unfortunately, I did spit out two pieces ofsushi, not because it was bad, but because I was here to try and like sushi when I really don't like it that much. The staff wasvery understanding and actually encouraged me to keep trying sushi. They even offered to give me a substitute and gave us somefree shots of sake. I would like to say thank you to the staff for being so accommodating to us. We had a lot of fun and hopeto come back again. Read more

Recommendation: go for the $98 omakase, and get the Big Mac as an extra. This is a great sushi spot with top notch sushi at a... bargain price. The way they make this work is by volume, so this isn't a place where you dilly dally and you may even feel a bitrushed, but I think it's a fair trade-off for this level of quality. Highly recommend this if you like to get omakases. Thestaff are very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them. Read more

One of the small splurges on our trip and definitely a great date night for our anniversary in NYC. It's upbeat and not romantic... per se, but the service is friendly and informative and the $98 per person Omakase was well worth the price in our opinion.Someone had a birthday and they turned off the lights for a moment and played some silly rap songs with birthday lyrics for afew seconds. The server also was able to recommend some sake that we enjoyed. We had a reservation for a table, but it lookslike they may have accepted walk-ins as well. Read more

This was a great affordable omokase experience. They have an upgrade set for a bit more but I say it’s worth it! The staff was... extremely nice and accommodating, really felt like the full omokase Japanese experience. Came with my girlfriend and we wereboth pleasantly surprised by everything! A must try for any sushi lover looking for some authentic and high quality sushi. Read more

I'd give such a low mark as per the below reasons: 1. The sushi chef didn't wear masks where were sitting at the counter... awaiting our Omakase to be served. I reckon it'd be the basic hygiene requirement to meet for the chef. 2. I was rather shockedby the sushi with LAOGANMA (chilli sauce). I didn't expect this at all. I don't think a traditional Japanese restaurant wouldserve such a dish. It tastes so weird and funny . 3. The most annoying part is the service. The staff brought us our bill whenwe just finished our dish. We didn't ask for it but it seemed like they would like to pay the bill asap. We have never beentreated like that at other Japanese restaurants. 4. I know this is not run by a Japanese Chef but since the selling point is allabout Japanese cuisine, how about show some respects to the real culture? quite disappointed as a real sushi/Japanese cuisinelover Read more

Hard to find a cheaper Omakase in the city. We ordered the 18 piece option and it took exactly 1 hour for us to finish our meal,... including paying and time to browse the menu. Near the end of the meal you can choose to order sushi a la carte if you wish, aserver will come with an iPad to take your order for that. Overall I enjoyed the experience. Read more

Unlike most omakase restaurants I have been to, this place has a more relaxing atmosphere. The music they played are pop music... and the lighting was quite bright. There are several sushi chef, the one who served us was very hospitable. He gave us someadditional uni and offered us complimentary sushi after we are done with our set. For this price point, I would definitelyrecommend Sushi by M. Read more

This place is casual and a great place for a more affordable omakase experience. Not the best I've had for sure, the rice was a... bit on the sweeter side and rice to fish ratio too high to taste the fish. Appreciate the service and ambiance though! The BigMac was a nice add-on at the end. Read more
