The place is popular but the food is average. The service was quick and friendly. I noticed that many guests had moussaka, so... that is what I ordered. The portion is generous and reasonably priced (considering the location) but the taste was notspectacular. It was definitely premade and reheated. The other dishes were also just Ok or a little disappointing. For example, their Meat lovers pizza has only one type of meat in it. The dining space is very small crowded and noisy. It is better suitedfor lunch than dinner. 20% gratitude is added automatically to your bill - another unpleasant element. Read more

The place is very cute and quaint. Service was great. The food is alright though, reasonably priced. Their shrimp is amazing,... perfectly cooked, but their salmon roe dip was on the saltier end of my taste. Would recommend trying their other ones instead.Definitely a nice portion, not too heavy for dinner Read more

This place was right next to my hotel and was recommended plus it’s restaurant week so I gave them a try. Service was good... and the food delicious. I only didn’t care for the baklava. Was drenched in a syrup. I’m used to the flaky type where it’sa little crisp and full of layers. Other than that I would have given a definite 5 stars Read more

So nice to find a relatively affordable, non-corporate restaurant right by Sixth Avenue! Souvlaki GR serves big Greek dishes... that can easily serve two if paired with a salad or a mezze dip. The Greek salad and eggplant dip are great. We weren’t asimpressed by the pastitsio since the pasta part was way overcooked, but it was the kind of comfort food we needed at thatmoment. Didn’t even have time to take a picture of it. We also ordered a moussaka, but had to take it home because the dip, salad and entree were more than enough for two. Read more

Simply great! The decor provides the feel of stepping into a small cafe on a Greek Isle! The food was excellent! The service... matched just the same! Truly impressive! Read more

We’re on our trip to NYC. It was a hot day and we got back from the Pride parade. After resting I advocated for Greek food for... dinner. Souvlaki GR looked yummy so we decided to give it a shot. I ordered the moussaka. Huge portion but very tasty. It’sbest if you order one for two people to share. My wife and I shared the Greek salad. My older had the calamari and octopus withorzo. Amazing, the octopus is tender and soft! My younger daughter has the chick pea salad and a spinach and rice dish. I had anouzo shot which was good. Service was a attentive the the ambience was lively. I would come here again. Read more

This was my second time at Souvlaki. Food is consistently good here and the drinks today were pretty great too. We were charged... 20% of our cheque as service charge which was 20$ added to our 100$ check. Their kitchen has authentic Greek cooks, which isevident from the food they serve. Quite expensive IMO for small plates and a couple of drinks. However, servers are polite tooand the interiors are cosy cute. Read more
