Exceeded my expectations!! Everything we tried was delicious. Pictured: shrimp tacos, spinach gnocchi, beet salad, filet mignon... sliders (so tender), branzino, cobb salad Hotel breakfast buffet offered a welcomed range of fruit, though could have more hotfood options for the $41/person price point. The highlight must be the service. Waters and juices were constantly beingrefilled. Each and every staff was patient, gracious, down-to-earth, and a delight to converse with. Nice place with quality food and friendly service
Very disappointing. Upon being seated we noticed two dead flies and cheese on the floor. The server impatiently asked for our... order without even presenting us with the menu. We just wanted coffee. The Americano was very watered down and the cappuccinowas basically the same thing with some frothed milk. I did not have high expectations but for $10 each I expected somethingbetter than what was served. Read more
The grilled octopus was great. The grilled cheese wasn't amazing (it seemed like the bread was toasted instead of grilled and... the cheese wasn't completely melted) but the shoe string fries were on point. The ambiance is really nice and the service wasgreat. The soda was in a can instead of fountain and it was $9 for a can soda so that was a little ridiculous. But, overall, itwas a nice experience. Had drinks here at the bar one night and an early snack before meeting friends for a late dinner. Bar was attentive and shrimp... taco was tasty. The next night we had after dinner drinks so like (10:30) and sat at a table close to the bar instead. Servicewas deplorable. Had to ask for a menu, no nuts, husband had to wait like 15 mins before he could even ask for a check oncedrinks were finished and I had left the table to go up to the room. I love the essex house but this experience tainted it a bitfor me. Read more
