Such a beautiful space with incredible food and service. We showed up 20 min early and sat at the bar till our table was ready.... Had a great conversation with the bar tender who recommended some dishes for dinner. I had the rice paella which was great. Fullof flavor and fresh seafood. Had the squid ink croquets which were so damn good and filling. It’s so hard to find any kind ofsquid ink dish. And the steak was the star of the night. One of the best steaks I ever had. Cooked to perfection with theperfect seasoning and slight char. The desert was great as well. Had the burnt cheesecake and it was a perfect cap to thedinner. Definitely coming back for that steak. And hopefully the garden room roof is open next time. Read more
“What’s not to like here?” said the Michelin Guide back in 2017. I only discovered Salina today after living in Chelsea... for over 3 years. I can’t believe I didn’t discover this place sooner. Food , cocktails. atmosphere and service allfantastic. Yes it’s a bit pricey but gosh was it worth it. Smoked salt cod on toast was fabulous, so was the bravas withcaviar and beetroot with anchovies to name but a few. The basque cheesecake was a great finish. Thank you. We’ll be back verysoon. Great dining experience at Salinas. Kind of shocked that its only a 4.3 Starred spot. Meanwhile the food is delicious, feels new... and refreshing and is complimented by great service. We arrived a little early for a birthday meal and were accepted at the barwith no wait and got drinks almost immediately, no need to transfer bills to table. The first round of drinks (Balearic Sunsetand Imitation of Life) were pretty good! and in 15 minutes or so we were brought to our table. The vibe is dim bar car on amidnight train. We sat in the beautiful atrium in the back perfect for a rainy night. We had Croquetas, Fried artchoke and beetplate which was amazing, some crispy potatoes and the European Sea Bass, which was some of the best fish I have ever tried. overall, the meal was disappointing. the hostesses and service were not friendly, and we felt rushed the whole meal- even though... the dining room had plenty of open tables. our food was not staggered and came all a once... the waiter kept pushing us to orderdrinks, food, and etc. the jamón was covered in oil (not the oil from the jamón), and was not really jamón- which is a keypart of a tapas experience. the croquetas and octopus were the best items we ordered, but everything else was not memorable (andat a v high price point). the cocktails were good- so it would be a good place to come for drinks and one tapa. it was also hardto enjoy tapas when you are being rushed. the garden room is really cozy and romantic, but we chose the sit in the dining room. Lovely food. Enjoyed most things and the restaurant has a lovely ambiance. Definitely more of a special occasion place. Went on... a great date here, but would consider taking the parents for special dinner if they came to visit. Read more
I looked up "top Spanish restaurants in NYC" and Salinas was high on the list. The 5 star reviews of this place are so true as... the ambience, food and overall service was truly top notch. Our server Andrew was courteous, attentive, friendly, knowledgeableand wonderful which only added to our amazing experience. My wife and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary here and we willbe back asap! Food was immense, the atmosphere was very romantic and refreshing, but the service itself was also veryconsistent. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to celebrate or just eat and drink at a nice place! Read more
