I have been going to this restaurant for years and was crushed when I learned that University Place had closed. Fast forward to... last night: They are back, and seemingly better than ever. So glad to see this place has moved locations and regrouped. Thefood was as solid as ever?utterly delicious?and prices were very reasonable. The ambiance is actually better than their lastlocation because it?s calmer and quieter. (A Great date place). Our family considers this a favorite restaurant and we all metthere to see what had become of them. We are thrilled to report that they have only improved. Just delicious. Best of luck tothem. I?m actually pretty pleased. I ordered for take out so I didn?t experience the dine in but even the service for takeout was... quick and easy. It didn?t feel rude and rushed. I didn?t eat my canh chua till hours later and I didn?t want it to end. I didwish it came with a small portion of white rice but I also should?ve ordered a side of it. Overall, great experience. I could not be happier that Saigon Market has re-opened. I've been visiting incarnations of this restaurant since the... mid-nineties on the Upper West Side (Broadway). Rumor was this was John Lennon's favorite restaurant. The owners have changed(for the better) and restaurant has evolved and reincarnated over the decades but the menu has stayed the same, as has theimpeccable quality. Favorites include La Sa Ga, the best chicken soup in the world with rice noodles as thin as capellini, coconut milk and a nice spicy kick, and Bo Luc Lac, little bite size pieces of perfectly cooked steak as tender as the bestfilet mignon. This was super a cute after dinner spot to get dessert or maybe even a cute date night spot. There?s a big tv right over the bar... which makes watching a Knicks game super easy. Service was superb! Read more

My ultimate favorite spot in NYC. Tasty foods, easy portion for great price. Things can not go wrong at this place. I usually... order Cha Gio (spring roll) as an appetizer or Pho Bo during chilly time. *For Pho Bo, they have 2 sizes so it's suitable forany time. For the first timer, I would recommend Pad Thai & Pork Chop(comes w/rice) and you have option to choose whether youwant the pork chop cut or not. *Make sure to pour or dip in the sauce that comes with. It makes the food more flavorful. *Theyused to carry Jalapeno pickles and they were my favorite but they don't carry anymore due to the pandemic. Read more

It's not a authentic Vietnamese place, a Chinese version of Vietnamese food. The price is very good, and the servers are mostly... nice. The pork chop is the closest thing to real Vietnamese food, and everything else is acceptable. This is a great lunchspot for nearby office people and college students. Read more
