Reviews for Rai Rai Ken Harlem in New York, NY
Don't get the pork. It looks nice on the outside but the ramen doesn't have a quality taste. You're better going to grocery... store dressing up your own Read more
Rai Rai Ken is delicious! Their Kara-age Curry Rice meal is absolutely dynamite and is a dish I will definitely continue... dreaming about until I make my way back there for more! Their Kara-age is hands down the best I?ve ever had. It is fried tocrispy perfection and you can tell that quality cuts of chicken are used because of how tender it is. You can literally cut intoit with a spoon despite the wonderful golden coating. Rai Rai Ken?s curry sauce is something special also! It?s got a decentlevel of spice and is truly what dreams are made of, especially on super cold days. The Mabo Ramen is wonderful too if you lovea bit of spice but ramen is more your speed. I can?t wait to visit them again. Read more
Excellent staff. I had the karage; it was large and "OK" in flavor. I wish the dish included a bit more than just white rice... and chicken, as it would greatly improve the appeal at a very low cost. Some pickles, a salad, or miso soup for example wouldadd to the dish a great deal, otherwise its just a whole lot of the same food. Cost: $17 Read more
Idk if you can tell from the picture, but the bowl of ramen I got from was so oily, that I could barely taste anything else.... Really nasty/slimy mouth feel. And too oily to taste spicy Read more
Authentic Japanese ramen shop. Cozy, perfect for a dinner date or a quick bite. Many seamless and grubhub customers in the nabe... frequent this spot. Having lived in Japan for almost 4 years during my youth, I can attest that this is fresh abs authenticfare. Try anything, really, you won't be disappointed Read more
TL;DR: -largely improved after September -great lunch deal, friendly staff, tasty ramen This is my neighborhood ramen place.... I've always gone to them for good lunch deals and the fact that their staff is really friendly. The ramen itself has always beenpretty good and fairly simple but nothing special. I stopped going in August and September and when I went back this month, Ifeel that they've been largely improved! They don't crack my favorite list of ramen spots in the city, but still a really greatoption. They do the classics of shio, shoyu, miso and a few other varieties (including a stir fry after they featured it insmorgasburg). If you want tonkotsu, there's Jin Ramen, which is a 8-10 minute walk at 125 and Broadway and they do a fantastictonkotsu. Read more
