Came here for my 18th Birthday! Super tasty tea and pastries with kind and attentive staff. It’s a lot of food honestly,... wasn’t able to finish it all. Cool place to chill with loved ones (I spent a good 2 hours here probably) Read more

Celebrated my daughter's birthday. I am not loving the changes. The place our sandwiches on a plate and not on a tear. The... selection of teas were not memorable. It didn't feel like the Pembroke until I got the bill. Read more

Great time having high tea at the pembrook room at the Lowell hotel. Tea was great, even when I picked one and didn't like it,... they changed it out for a second one. The small treats were delicious. The scones were warm but not dry like traditional scones. They were also not as tasty, more butter needed in the recipe. Clotted cream and lemon curd rocked. Service was great. Smallspace so reservations are a must. Outside space would be nice during the appropriate months. Read more

Had afternoon tea in this tea room located in the Lowell hotel. Service was professional and attentive and the setting was... elegant. The sandwiches and the pastries were delicious. The lobster roll and egg sandwich were especially tasty while thepastries were not too sweet. I particularly enjoyed the sconces and jam. This is definite one of the better places that offerafternoon tea sets. Read more

The atmosphere in the Pembroke Room is sublime and the service is good and the staff appears very well trained.. In fact the... Lowell's atmosphere is so elegant and understatedly beautiful and my overall experiences with this hotel have been so wonderfulthat it is surprising that the afternoon tea is not so great. I ordered the high end tea at about 100 a person and I orderedchampagne in addition. The bill was astronomical but that was not the problem since I fully understood that going in and wouldhave been glad about it were the afternoon tea itself great but it wasn't. The first caviar course was barely OK as was theusual three part tray of scones-sandwiches-pastries. They added some take home chocolate in a box which was elegant andappreciated. The Lowell Hotel is very expensive for all of its high calibre services and I hope they work a little harder tomake their afternoon tea one level more special. Also the waiters might be told to make slightly more frequent "visits" to thetables. Read more

Two of my friends and I went to the Pembroke room for tea on Saturday. We had an excellent experience. The setting is intimate... and fancy. It is pretty quiet, so not the place for a rousing group. The staff were polite and welcoming, explaining the menuand our choices, answering questions. Tea was served quickly, and food was served before we knew it. The sandwich and pastrieswere delicious. Macaroons were a highlight for me. Wow. We especially liked the blintz with caviar and the smoked salmonsandwich. Scones were perfectly done, served with a sweet cream, lemon curd, marmalade and jam. We were able to stay at ourleisure. The staff were not pushy as opposed to those at the Palm Court. A much better experience at the Pembroke for mytaste. I would definitely return here for high tea. I had a lovely afternoon tea here @ 3pm. It is one of the fancier tea rooms in NYC and not crowded on weekdays like Bergdorf/St... Regis/Pierre/Mandarin Oriental. It is traditional high tea with white glove service. I tried their house tea which wasinteresting combination of ceylon, darjeeling, and jasmine teas. The tea sandwiches were tasty and fresh, definitely notpre-made. I liked the sandwiches that were not usually the typical for afternoon tea - lobster salad and deviled egg. Thescones were freshly made too, definitely not stale and they gave us a selection of jams, lemon curd, and Devonshire cream to gowith them. The petit fours were ok, I liked the fruit tarts but the cakes were too dense for me. The service was amazinglyattentive and I will definitely go back for another afternoon tea break. Read more
