I had a very enjoyable experience at Omar?s this weekend, but with a bunch of problems I think could be fixed. For starters,... when I sat down for dinner there wasn?t any drink service whatsoever. They had no water or waiters giving out drinks, just veryunclear instructions about how to get your drink. Secondly, they are very understaffed. There was only one person that seemed tobe doing everything, and it took about half an hour to get our food, as well as ten minutes to take our order. It seems likeOmar?s is more suited to serve people during their lunch break instead of a full sit down dinner. They have a Chipotle stylestation at the front that they use to serve their customers. Onto the food, their hummus was amazing. I highly recommend it butthat?s about all I can say. The chicken was fresh, but ok. It wasn?t what I expected from a shawarma place, but it wasn?tterrible. Not to mention their potato wedges were amazing too. It isn?t listed on their menu, but if you ask them for it theywill give it to you. They also give you a complementary baklava with every meal, which is a nice touch to add for desert.Overall, if you are looking for a quick takeout meal,I highly recommend Omar?s, but if you want a sit down experience fordinner, I would go somewhere else. Heard great things about the food here and lunch did not disappoint! I got the veggie combo. The falafel was absolutely... fantastic. Hummus and baba ganoush was great too, along with the tahini. Came with a piece of baklava that ended up being thebest I?ve ever tried. Happy I found this restaurant and would definitely come back again. Check it out if you?re in the area!Remember to bring cash! Read more

Wifey had a craving for Mediterranean food, we walked a good 25 minutes to get to this place, i am so glad we did. We had the... falafel pita, the chicken pita and the lamb pita with a side of hummus and falafel. You could also order a platter, it comeswith 2 sides and the pita is on the house. You order your food and have a choice of take out or dine in. The food will come toyour table if you decide to dine in. There is ample amount of tables to sit and enjoy your meal. The pita was soft and warm, the meat was fresh and flavorful. What made the taste even better was the sauces, there was a garlic /yogurt,mayo and a spicysauce. The owner was very friendly and offered us some free goodies to carry with us. Read more

This is THE lunch spot during the work week in Midtown. Omar's offers the best chicken shawarma in the area. On top of that,... they have ample indoor seating in the back. If you order food to go, they'll generously give you a piece of baklava as well. Acherry on top for sure. Pro-tip: I normally get the pita, but the platter consists of larger portions plus two sides. Orderwisely! Read more

Tried one of the chicken with falafel and tabouleh dishes, taste was ok for most, price was ok, portions ok. Also had another... chicken in pita dish that tasted similar. Liked one of the spicy sauces, the chicken, and the baklava. Didn't like the falafel, and thought the tabouleh was ok. Read more
