Be sure to follow him on social media to find out if he'll be open, then get there early. I was there just as he opened, such a... kind man who appears to love what he does. The food was spectacular! Spicy, but good spicy. You can sit in Washington Park, people watch or watch some chess matches while eating fantastic food. Read more

Delicious food & completely vegan. Get there early because the line forms & he can sell out fast. He can make it as mild or... spicy as you like. Reasonably priced & great atmosphere to eat in the park. Owner is a very nice man & definitely skilled inwhat he does. Very highly recommend. Read more

Recommended dosa place in NYC.I loved the coconut chutney and podi (combination of lentils such as split Bengal, black gram,... sesame seeds, curry leaves) I had ordered masala dosa and uttapam. I liked the uttapam more because of its authentic taste.Opens at 11:00 AM however I went at 10:30 AM since there is a long waiting queue. Food sometimes gets over by 2 PM Read more

The owner is a very nice person. While I was waiting on the line I saw him feeding the homeless. But this is a food review. I... will start by saying I don't particularly enjoy Indian food in general thus my score is going to be low. The dosa itself has asour taste to it. The filling is mostly just potatoes and common salad veggies. The favor of it just a blend of Indian spices.Samosa reminds me of a empanada with potato filling. Overall the favor just doesn't suit my southern Chinese taste bud. Read more

Going to the NYC Dosa man has been on my top things to do list for some time now. He has an amazing story and his food is great... too. His Dosas are made to order so there will be a long line. He also doesn?t come every day (he has a Twitter account thatwill post daily in the early morning if he?s cooking that day). I had his Masala Dosa and samosa. Whole thing was just $12.Tasted fresh, crisp and amazing. Well worth the wait. Read more

I always get the Pondicherry extra spicy and with the coconut chutney. I love the flavors that come together. I'm not vegan but... I sure love being able to eat something different. The Dosa Man is a sweet fella and always remembers what I ordered. Check himout. You will not be disappointed!! Read more

I went to NY for the first time in Oct/Nov 2021 for my birthday. Of all the places I wanted to try, I really wanted to try dosas... from the Dosa man! He is located in Washington Square Park and serves dosas and other foods made FRESH on the cart. He onlymakes and sells vegetarian/ vegan foods. The wait was about 1-1.5 hours - I think because it was lunch time, but it wasdefinitely well worth the wait. We ordered masala dosa, special Pondicherry, uttapam, samosa, veggie drumsticks and chai(literally ordered everything on the menu). The masala dosa and the uttapam with the chutneys and sambar were SO delicious. Thedosa was very crispy and the masala and sambar wasn't too spicy and very tasty. Thiru Kumar, the owner and cook, was veryfriendly, kind and sweet. Honestly, it was so wholesome to see him doing this for so many years, with the same menu, and alwayshave lines because his food is delicious. His honest and kind personality was heart warming. Definitely highly recommend thisspot even if the wait is long - it will not disappoint! Read more

I can't comment on its authenticity but it was was FKING DELICIOUS.The owner is very friendly and quick with prepping the... food! And yes, the line is certainly long, I actually waited for ~2.5 hours. But if you just need to buy the sides, such assamosa or vegan chicken leg, just go up to the cart! Read more
