Reviews for New Sunny East 88 in New York, NY
In all of my life, I have never tasted Chinese food this bad?.. do not buy the pork fried rice with general tso chicken. There... are no words to describe how dreadful the taste was and I?m hesitant to try anything else? I?m sorry but it?s just awful. Read more
Orange chicken was ok. The dumplings were stiff, thick dough, and lacking in flavor, even in comparison to frozen and hand-made... dumplings. And the vegetarian meal was so bland, I would describe it as "unflavored". They say new York food is better, butafter moving from D.C., I still haven't found equally good Chinese take out on the upper east side yet. I just need to lookaround more. Read more
The main thing I like about this place is that their delivery is in a timely way and you don't have to wait a long time. The... reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that I found the food not as good as it could be. But I have used them severaltimes. Read more

This was absolutely terrible. The food all tasted like it had been sitting out all day. Fried rice? Dry. Wonton soup? Broth was... near water status and had the 3 tiniest wontons in it. General Tso?s? Chicken was full of gristle and super soggy. And thisonly scratches the surface of issues with our order. Read more
This used to be my go-to spot. The food is not the same. It is very apparent that the pandemic has taken a toll on this, what... used to be a delicious ?hole in the wall? ?hidden gem?. The rice is bland, the soups are watered down to avoid high food costs, the portions are much smaller and mostly all inedible. It is sad that this has happened but if they cannot afford to make ediblefood, they should not be in business. I wanted it to be good. I really did. It just is not. You should find another spot. Very clean and delicious tasting Chinese food. The chicken is succulent and tender, not gritty or dry like many other Chinese... food places. Also it doesn't taste greasy, just very fresh and clean. I also like that they have unique sides like sauteedzucchini. Finally the prices are very affordable. Normally General Tso's is $18 elsewhere, here it is just $11 and is waybetter than the more expensive spots I've tried. Highly recommended. Read more
I stopped in this place to get a wonton soup and an egg roll. What a mistake. I wasted my money on the worst wonton soup I have... ever had. It was a chicken based broth when it should have been a beef based soup that tasted like it was made from bouilloncubes (nasty salt bomb), and the wontons weren't even wontons. Look at my photos, just sad and bad. I will never go to thisplace again. Read more
