Went to Nectar diner on Madison. Looked like a cute, quick, simple diner so I thought it would be a safe bet for my kids. I... didn’t look at the prices first- big mistake. Food was terrible. The chicken quesadillas was filled with too much onions andpeppers and needed salt, the Caesar salad was awful and had no flavor so my son didn’t eat it. The chicken tenders looked likethick worms they were spongy and my other son didn’t eat that either. The cheeseburger was thick and had no flavor and mydaughter didn’t eat it. The French onion soup had no salt which is ironic since the cheese is supposed to have salt, but thecheese had no flavor. For all of these entrées that we got, the best thing was the grilled cheese. And it cost $220. Thisplace’s food was awful I don’t even know how it’s still here. Thought we were going into a diner type place, left therespending a fortune and not satisfied. So basically we ordered a mozzarella sticks, grilled cheese(w/out fries), Caesar salad(nochicken) chicken quesadillas, a cheeseburger, chicken tenders and fries and a French onion soup, all for $220. I was so shockedand disappointed that I had to leave a review. $38 for chicken tenders and fries folks. Read more

Perhaps they get all the tourists from the Met. The food was okayish. The problem is: 1. They CHARGE you to use a card, and... when you ask, they point you to a sign in the window. So of course, you must read every sign outside a restaurant, NOT at themenu, which DOES NOT mention the extra charge. 2. When you hand over the card, the server does NOT mention the extra charge. 3.The bill is handwritten, 15% service charge is already added, and the total is incorrect. 4. No POS machine -- they take thecard away where you cant see it. 5. When you ask for the bill, you are told you cant get it. 6. When you insist, they lookthrough at least 30 bills shoved in the crevice between the cash register and the wall. 7. When the bill is found, you are againtold you can see it, but not take it. 8. When you still insist, you are told you can get a copy. 9. You wait for a copy, whichyou eventually get. A process most tourists tired from the museum are not going to follow ... But seriously, a handwrittenbill? And the card out of sight? Not acceptable in these times. Read more

We went on a Sunday at about 12:30 pm. It was SUPER busy but the food is good. Not exceptional, but good. Our waitress seemed... a bit lost - likely she was new or stressed? We had to ask for cutlery. No one came to fill our water. We didn’t getnapkins. My area of the table was sticky with syrup? The sausage was good. Overall, definitely a good place to eat. Read more

Great Upper East Side diner, run by a tattooed Russian mafiosi (I think I kid). The sandwiches and corn beef hash were... excellent, the steak was fine. Indoor and outdoor seating. Old school atmosphere. Great fun and good value. Read more

This place had amazing food and they made sure our boys were full which is no small feat! They are 6’5 315lbs, 6’9 290 lbs... and 6’6 310lbs. You felt like you were a family member sitting down to Sunday dinner. They knew all their regular customers byname. We will be going back! Read more

After 3 hours at the MET we were starving. Had a late lunch at Nectar. Clean, friendly and prompt service. Food was excellent!... Came quickly and was plentiful. The specials are bit pricey but you get a lot. We didn’t have to cook dinner, we had enoughleftovers. ???????? Read more
