Reviews for Mumbai Masala in New York, NY
Great service, delicious food! We got a Chicken tikka masala and a butter chicken and an order of garlic naan.
I rarely write a review esp when it's bad bc the business is hard these days and I just let it go. This restaurant had the best... Indian food when it first opened but since 2020 the I've notice the food quality declining slowly. I was disappointed but I wasable to still enjoy somewhat whenever I craved Indian food. However today I reached my limit. As usual I ordered my favoritedish Dahl Makni: full of delicious black lentil covered with orange color sauce that taste like creamy butter, and the aroma ofspices to tingle my taste buds when I opened up the package. Well, today none of it was there; there were maybe a spoonful oflentil instead of bowl full (it looks like they added some other beans black beans and chick peas along with it to fill up thevolumn...I guess to save money???), and the sauce was disgusting green color (almost made me think of vomit....) and zero spicearoma. I called the restaurant and the annoying hostess (who by the way has terrible communication skills) just keep on sayingthe they now changed the recipe or something. Honestly she didn't even really listen to me, she was busy defending therestaurant instead of listening to customer's feedback. THAT IS IT, I AM DONE WITH THIS RESTURANT. PEOPLE DON'T ORDER FROMHERE. NOT WORTH IT. TRY CLOVE ON 139TH AND AMSTERDAM! THEY ARE DELICIOUS!!! Read more

The food was delicious, and the lady there was so nice. Definitely will be coming back every time I?m craving Indian food.
Wowww, idk how this place could be so delicious and so inexpensive! I think the most expensive thing on the menu was $17. We had... a feast. The salmon tikki masala was very flavorful. The dal soup had a strong citrus aroma and flavor and went perfect with thecold weather. The service was also very attentive and kind. I highly recommend. Read more
I ordered 3 items from this place and all of them were undercooked. When I called the restaurant, I was told it?s my job to... bring food back so that they can provide me same food again that?s properly cooked. When I insisted I want either full refund or?properly cooked? food redelivred, the lady on call hung-up on me few times. Please, stop ordering from this place. Read more
I order from here often and definitely recommend this spot for both take out, delivery or dine-in. It?s a lovely family-run... small Indian cuisine restaurant with a quaint atmosphere, kind owners and staff plus an inviting and very clean and well-keptsetting. When I placed a pick-up order of their Jinga Bunga?a traditional medium-spiced shrimp dish in a thick tomato currywith jasmine rice?and it was prepared much differently than usual and with some incorrect spicing and vegetables, the ownerskindly gave me a free order of the same dish, which was made correctly as well as very delicious and perfect the followingday. I stopped by a friend?s place on my way home from picking it up and let her try it?wound up loosing half my lunch to her, haha as she liked it so much. Read more
I have eaten at many Indian restaurants in NYC and M.M. is by far my favorite. I always order the same dish. Chicken Saag. It's... fresh not to spicy just perfect. The waitress Fatimah goes the extra mile with kindness and service. I recently took a group ofmy friends who agreed freshness service and atmosphere. ***** Read more
