We were in NYC to drop my son off at school and found Mughlai because the initial restaurant we were at had an extremely long... wait. I called Mughlai to see if there was any open tables and the owner said they were full but she would work our party of 3in. When we arrived they were completely full but like she said, she would work us in and she did just that even offered usdrinks while we wait for a table. My sister and myself ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and my son ordered the curry chicken. Ohmy heavens what a treat! We cleaned our plates!! When you step into this place the aromas and the fragrance of spices hits youjust right and you know you're in for a treat! I'm so glad we found Mughlai! From the owner, to the staff, we felt verywelcomed, and the food was superb! The entire experience was great!! This will be our spot whenever we're in the city!! Read more

My brother and I had dinner here last night. Met the owner. A wonderful lady, with a great personal history. The food was... excellent and the serving staff were very helpful. We are somewhat familiar with Indian food, but still accept advise on menuitems as Indian food has a large variety of tastes. Overall, a great experience. I would recommend it. The only complaint I hadwas the room was a tad warm, but the warm NY temp and the food may have contributed to this. Seeing many other presumably Indianpatrons there confirms our suspensions that this restaurant is very good. Read more

Just a sliver of a spot for dinner. Competent wait staff in a cozy, intimate setting. I was happy to find an Indian food... restaurant close to my hotel. Menu had many, customary, both veg and non-veg items. Dishes were authentic, moderately priced, and served promptly. Mango Lassi was slightly sweet, smooth, and well made. Garlic Nan was the perfect traditional accompanimentto our Chicken Tikka and Lamb Vindaloo. Tikka gravy was a might sweeter than I usually experience, like some bit of excess sugaradded perhaps, and Lamb Vindaloo was with some rather tough, fatty, and stringy “lamb” in a gravy watery with raw gingerslices. Not altogether unpalatable as spices were in balance, but also not the best to be had. I would probably return toinvestigate more, and considering the authenticity of the cuisine, the pleasant ambience, the good service, and amenablepricing. Read more

This place is close to Times Square . The food was good . We ordered fish mughlai, chicken 65 and both items were good . The... kids had paneer makhani and butter naan. The naan were not that soft ( just a suggestion). The chicken moghlai curry we askedfor medium spicy but it was not spicy at all . When we complained they didn’t charge for it in the bill . My advice trychicken chettinad ( our friend ordered it and it was awesome ) . Only concern is they have a very small place and we were 11people . They Cudnt join the tables and we end up sitting in 3 different tables separately. Overall good place to eat. Idefinitely recommend this to others . Paneer makhani was good. We end up eating paneer and naan as we Cudnt eat the chicken dish. Read more

We ordered takeout from here and really enjoyed it. Generous portions, tender (not dry chicken) and good spice level. Delivery... was also fast We ordered saag chicken, chicken vindaloo and aloo gobhi. We got the chicken vindaloo extra spicy and it had agreat kick. It was a bit more tomato-sauceish than we usually have and a bit thinner but very happy with it. The aloo gobhi wasdecent. The naan was good, albeit more on the softer side. I liked how they give you rice with each order instead of chargingyou extra for it. Next time i plan on trying some tandoori chicken and maybe in-person dining Read more

This Restaurant has an intimate atmosphere with just enough tables to avoid being crowded, and the selection is extensive!... Delicious meals and reasonable portion sizes. Can recommend the chef special dishes for both fish and chicken. Read more
