Cold dishes! Mediocre tasting food! Behind apparently accurate presentations hides a taste for cheap dishes. Exaggerated prices.

I visited the restaurant for a special occasion.  However, from the beginning to the end, the server was making an arrogant... smirk on his face which made the dining experience uncomfortable.  They also charged for a tiny birthday cupcake that we neverordered.  Initially we were told that it was complementary, but later I noticed that they charged $14 for the tiny cupcake thatwe did not order in the first place.  I called the manager but, unfortunately, his attitude was very aggressive.  I was forcedto pay for the food item that I never ordered/agreed to pay for.  Lastly, the food was worse than anticipated for the price Ipaid.  Seriously, it is a ripoff place.  I will NEVER visit them ever again. Ate here last night, the experience was far from our first experience, so the place must be struggling to provide an outstanding... experience for their diners. The server began with telling us we did not order "enough" food and must order another main course. When I questioned that strange comment, he pointed out to me in his pretentious voice that there is a $60/person minimum! Isaid, we are well over that with our drinks. He insisted we must order more. 10 minutes later, he comes back, interrupts ourconversations and said.."You did hit the minimum, you don't need to order that last item". I am like...really, you are stillpestering me about how much to order? Well, the food arrives, and only two items were worth the ~$55 per entree...the fillet andthe chicken satay. The Mr Chow Noodles had like one teaspoon of sauce on noodles, the scallion pancakes were just weird..smallmushy globs (all stuck together), strange tasting things, again with no dipping sauces. The Beijing Chicken, were dry littlenuggets with no sauce (could have had better at McDonalds). There were four people, we got out of there for $573 ($143 perperson). I guess the waiter guy was happy he pushed all that food on us. BTW, did we eat all the food? No, it was not good andit was too much for us. There are so many good restaurants in NYC..I would recommend anywhere else..but not here. Very overrated, very pretentious and not good food for the money. Read more

Very high end restaurant. Food is bland , absolutely no for vegans as they have fish sauce in mostly everything. Went with... friends ,dining ambience is good, waiter did poor job in explaining and suggesting from menu. For us friends it was a highlypriced mistake . Read more

Seeing friends after 20 years and catching up makes you forget to take food photos ???? Very fancy Chinese fine dining. Been to... Mr Chow in Los Angeles a few years back. The best was an amazingly crispy gambler duck with pancakes. Don't miss out on thatexperience. Service was exceptional. Rose wine superb. All recommendations. We sat outside on a lovely summer night. Insidesitting is very elegant too. Nice experience. Read more

I?ll let the truth explain itself: they charged us $27 for steamed veg and $13 for rice (photo below). The story went like this... - we ordered prefix, and then the food was the worst! The scallion was wrongly cut and the pancake for duck was over cooked andthick and then we ate crab shell from the crab meat + egg white! We were mad, the food was bad, and we complained and did notwant a new one. The restaurant said they would cancel the crab only, and then instead they charged us $27 for vege and $13 forrice?! The food here is amazing! And the service is great. We were able to substitute some meats for vegan alternatives. The staff was... very accommodating. Read more

it's not chinese food if there's no flavor... the food here was seriously rough on all accounts. the only redeemable dishes were... the potstickers which were passable and the crispy beef. the lettuce wraps were so dry and flavorless. luckily, we had hot saucewe could dose all the food with. the scallion pancakes were like greasy donuts with no scallions. the fiery chicken was okay-had some flavor. the duck was literally skin and bones... there was basically no meat. the drinks were probably the best thingall night, but at the price point, it was all ridiculously overpriced for what it is. i would not recommend coming here and willnever be found her again.
