Finally a restaurant that does justice to the region of Szechuan. The food here is authentic, absolutely delicious and seriously... HOT, as it is meant to be. Fried rice and noodles are pretty solid as well. The place is gorgeous, service polite and attentive, even on a super busy Saturday evening. Nothing was rushed and everything was extremely pleasing to the eyes and the belly. Ithought the spicy fish hot pot was the best. The prices are also very decent, we ordered several dishes and quite a fair amountof alcohol and ended up paying less than $50 each (there was 6 of us). The only thing we didn't like was the dessert. It lookedbeautiful but it was pretty flavorless, I won't order it again. Besides that, I warmly recommend it. Totally worth the wait. Read more

I was wandering around St. Mark's Place when I found this place. I was there at around 12.30 pm and it was jam packed. Had to... make a reservation. Took about 45 minutes and we had a table. I ordered the pork belly with Cucumber which was reallydelicious. It had the garlic sauce with spicy red oil as dipping sauce. Really good if you are a garlic fan!!! We also orderedthe Fish and Tomato Soup and Beef and Tomato Soup as entrees. My family liked it very much but I was never really a spicy andsour kind of guy. That's just me. Overall it was a good dining experience. The staff were very courteous and friendly. Price wasreasonable. Recommended if you are a "spicy numb" food connoisseur. Read more

This place consistently has a wait so if you want to come in without waiting, line up at the open or come at odd hours. Seems... like 3:30 or 4 pm on a weekend is ok wait-wise. We came at 3 and waited for around 15 min for a table to clean up. The food hereis so good and tastes really authentic. The la zi chicken is probably my favorite dish here followed by the ma la hot fish. Ifyou want something that’s not going to numb your entire mouth, the braised pork belly clay pot with chestnuts is delicious. Read more

Tasty spicy foods!!! We actually can taste the flavors other than chillies. The food presentation is very nice. The house... jasmine tea is pretty good compared to another Chinese restaurant One star off for not good customer service. My niece spilledher drink and no staff responded on our request for more napkins or towel or offer to clean our table Read more

Great experience at Szechuan Mountain House. The restaurant itself is beautiful and serene. The food is authentic, well... presented and delicious. Highlights: - Beef soup - this has such a unique spicy tangy flavor. Loved it. - Eggplant - cookedwell so the texture and taste were perfect (not mushy) - Corn - super addictive and yummy. The Szechuan noodles and spicychicken were also delicious if you can handle the spice. The only thing I wasn’t a big fan of was the pork belly appetizer -was a bit bland in my opinion. All in all though a great experience and for a group of 5, very well priced at ~$35/pp. Willdefinitely return. Read more

Loved this Szechuan restaurant. Don’t sleep on the swing pork belly. The sauce was super flavorful. I loved the spicy Szechuan... noodles. Ma-la beef was also great and portion was huge - family size shareable. Green tea comes with your meal and is a nicetouch. Atmosphere was 10/10. Read more

Amazing service - they are very accommodating to special requests (reduce spice levels and make vegetarian) and our server was... very helpful with recommendations etc. The food was sublime!!! Definitely get the pork belly cucumber appetizer and the sourbeef soup. Eggplant and long beans was also phenomenal! Very affordable too. Highly recommend this place as a must try in StMarks Place!
