NYC Restaurant week try. I have wanted to try this place for awhile but didn?t find the occasion. Restaurant week gave me the... excuse and very glad I came. It?s not cheap even though with restaurant week special (uni additional $19, Japanese wagyuadditional $39). The quality and execution were near perfect. I was invited to a dinner at Mifune and didn?t know what to expect. Well, I was blown away by the thoughtful and creative food... preparation and service. It is incredibly hard to be great at many different preparations and this is why most successfulrestaurants specialize in only a few things and then do it very well. Otherwise someone is always disappointed that they wereunlucky to order the wrong thing. Mifune seems to have accomplished a miracle and is able to execute 10 perfect courses andtiming to serve it. It is always fun to critique and compare what each person at the table ordered. Ironically, we missed thispart of the fun. All of us at the table couldn?t find one thing to disparage. Mifune is one of the hidden treasures of New York City's fine dining scene, with food that is simultaneously creative,... delicious, and gorgeous. At turns decadent, complex, and comforting, the food stands on par with any of the city's elitethree-Michelin-Star restaurants, and it's paired with service that is friendly, warm, and welcoming. It was the best Japanese 8 course cuisine in the city. Each dish was very unique and filled with so much flavor. Chef Tomo is... genius with combining different ingredients in harmony. I fully enjoyed richness of each ingredient's flavor he created. Thisplace has a great atmosphere and services. Chef Tomo even came to our table to greet us and had a short conversation with us. Ifeel very lucky that I found this gem place today! It was $120 per person + extra $$ for drinks. It was totally worthy and it isactually a great deal considering the quality. Read more
