I have been eating at this restaurant since the late 90s. I took everyone I knew and visited me to this restaurant. The food... was consistently delicious until recently. The pas couple of times I have ordered food from here were incredibly disappointing! The injera did not have much flavor and was dried-out, the Gomen beseaga had virtually no collard greens, tibs wat flavorlessand the tomatoes in the timatim fitfit weren?t fresh. I hope the restaurant gets their act together because Ethiopian food is afavorite of mine and unfortunately I?ll be looking for a new go-to restaurant. Read more

Right level of spicy, my Ethiopian of choice in NYC, and also the gayest place to watch people.

Meske, what happened? We used to frequent this place regularly, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Things have changed. Although the... food is still tasty, the portions are miniscule and not worth the money. Plus, no air conditioning. And the injera lacked thatdistinctive spongy texture and fermented taste. Please bring the Meske we know and love back! Read more

Authentic Ethiopian cuisine served in a pleasant indoor and outdoor setting. 2 people = $100ish with 20% tip. Friendly staff... and quick service. Dessert was unavailable the night I devoured the magnificent Lega Tibs, but the Tej was a great finish to agreat meal. Entrance on west 47th. Onstreet municipal parking about a block and a half down 47th then immediately left onto11th. The subway is nearby and the excellent menu offer vegetarian, lamb, beef, and chicken choices. The steamed veggiesgreat and I just wish the sabosa appetizer came with more sabosas. Cheers to Meske! Read more

I?ve been to nearly every Ethiopian place in every borough - bar none this is the best. The meat is buttery and spicy and oh so... good! I like it uncooked, and they do it perfectly. They have great Ethiopian wine (mead) and coffee too! Only way this placecould get better is if they had a bar. Read more

Delicious Ethiopian food served with the traditional soft Injera bread. Great for eating with friends, family, a large group. We... ordered the Meskerem Combo and Vegetarian Combo which was a lot of food and it was sufficient for all four of us. Definitelygoing to come here again as the food is AWESOME! Read more

Meske is one of my favorite restaurant ! and the best Ethiopian restaurant I have ever been. It's a family owned and the place... it super nice quiet and warm. The food is fantastic, there is a lot of vegan options !! And the Injera is the best I have evereaten. When you go don't miss the avocado salad. Read more

First time dining on Ethiopian food. The main dish is the Lega Tibs which is lamb in the middle portion surrounded by spices. I... thought it was a bit expensive about 90$ for the entire dish. Fluffy thin bread is used to scoop the meal with. It was quitegood. Glad to try new foods. Read more
