Reviews for Le French Diner in New York, NY
Incredible food and a beautiful experience. The staff is professional, friendly and super cool. The whole situation is super... cozy. It feels like traveling to France as soon as you open the door. Read more
Tiny French spot spitting out some of the best food with no pretense behind it. Get the octopus, socca de nice, ouefs, and most... importantly, the hangar steak with gratin dauphinois. The wines are always good, and flowing. Come with friends so you can tryeverything. Top to bottom, this unassuming restaurant is my favorite in the city. Read more
Incredible. Love love loved our dinner here. This is a very tiny restaurant so I recommend showing up between 5:30- 6 to ensure... you can get in. Escargot and the steak were highlights of our dinner, although we didn’t have one bad thing. Wine was alsoexcellent. Read more

Le French Diner is the definition of hole in the wall. Very very French restaurant in all the right ways. Echos the little... cafes in the back alleys of Paris. Everything dish is exquisite, and the owner is attentive and friendly. Spots are hard toget, so make sure to come early. Octopus and steak particularly stand out. The kind of place you would consistently come backto. Full five stars with no reservations. Also make sure to order a drink! Read more
We went there for a late dinner. At first I thought I wrongly entered a different restaurant, because it is very tiny and looks... more like a bar. I immediately got curious, because usually this means the food is so good that it overweights the whole look.(which was still cool by the way) the waiter was super friendly and quickly seated us. We were 4 and as I remember they dont takereservations. We ordered octopus, tomato salad and beef tartare for starters. Let me just say, the octopus was not onlyperfectly cooked, but it was the most flavorful and tender octopus I have every had on any restaurant or continent. For mains wetook the duck and the steak, which were also delicious and for desert their pana cotta ( or was it cream brûlée? I don'tremember, I was in food coma) anyway the waiter was really nice and communicative. We are coming back for sure! Thanks! Read more

This place is worthy of more than 5 stars - it raises the bar for what I expect forFrench food. Definitely coming back. Read more
